The latest 'campaign� is aimed at the international gay community.
Forgetting that Israel treats its gays as second class citizens, that they
are brutally attacked constantly by extreme right wingers and religious
zealots, the 'campaign� wants gay tourism to �save its image�. WHAT
IMAGE????? A murderous nation that has convinced the world that everything
is OK here�. Well�. IT�S NOT! Was it also forgotten that just a month ago
one of Israels gay community centres was the scene of a shootout?
BUT�� busine$$ is busine$$�. and obviously porn is a good one.Whether or not
the 'campaign� is successful or not, the film 'Men of Israel� will surely be
a moneymaker�. that�s all that really counts, right? The film won�t be
showing the wall of apartheid or Israeli men taking aim at Palestinian
children. It won�t be showing images from the recent war in Gaza or the
Palestinians living on the streets of Jerusalem� after being illegally
evicted from their homes by Israeli men. No�. it will show the viewers a
false image of a love that just does not exist in Israel.

(CNSNews.com) -- The National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism
(NIAA), a part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), will pay $2.6
million in U.S. tax dollars to train Chinese prostitutes to drink
responsibly on the job.
Dr. Xiaoming Li, the researcher conducting the program, is director of the
Prevention Research Center at Wayne State University School of Medicine in
Detroit.
The grant, made last November, refers to prostitutes as "female sex
workers"--or FSW--and their handlers as "gatekeepers."
"Previous studies in Asia and Africa and our own data from FSWs [female sex
workers] in China suggest that the social norms and institutional policy
within commercial sex venues as well as agents overseeing the FSWs (i.e.,
the 'gatekeepers', defined as persons who manage the establishments and/or
sex workers) are potentially of great importance in influencing alcohol use
and sexual behavior among establishment-based FSWs," says the NIH grant
abstract submitted by Dr. Li.
"Therefore, in this application, we propose to develop, implement, and
evaluate a venue-based alcohol use and HIV risk reduction intervention
focusing on both environmental and individual factors among venue-based FSWs
in China," says the abstract.
The research will take place in the southern Chinese province of Guangxi.
Guangxi is ranked third in HIV rate among Chna's provinces--and is a place
where the sex business is pervasive, Li said.
“The purpose of the project is to try and develop an intervention program
targeting HIV risk and alcohol use,” Li told CNSNews.com. “So basically, it’s
an alcohol and HIV risk reduction intervention project."
The researcher outlined three components of the intervention program in the
abstract for the project:
“(1) gatekeeper training with a focus on changing or enhancing the
protective social norms and policy/practice at the establishment level; (2)
FSW (female sex workers) training with a focus on the acquisition of
communication skills (negotiating, limit setting) and behavioral skills
(e.g., condom use skills, consistent condom use); and (3) semi-annual
boosters to reinforce both social norms within establishments and individual
skills,” wrote Li.
The doctor said the heart of the study involves “a community-based cluster
randomized controlled trial among 100 commercial sex venues in Beihai, a
costal tourist city in Guangxi.”
"We anticipate that the venue-based intervention program will be culturally
appropriate, feasible, effective and sustainable in alcohol use and sexual
risk reduction among FSWs," says the NIH grant abstract.
Li said his study is being done in China rather than the U.S. because
prostitution occurs with alcohol use in the United States like it does in
China, Americans will be able to benefit from the project’s findings.
“We want to get some understanding of the fundamental role of alcohol use
and HIV risk,” he said. “We use the population in China as our targeted
population to look at the basic issues. I think the findings will benefit
the American people, too."
Li said minimal research has been conducted on the link between alcohol use
and prostitution as it relates to HIV.
“Alcohol has been a part of the commerce of sex for many, many years.
Unfortunately, both global-wise (and) in the United States, very few
researchers are looking at the complex issue of the inter play between
alcohol and the commerce of sex,” he told CNSNews.com.
The grant is one of several “international initiatives” sponsored by the
National Institutes of Health
Ralph Hingson, director of epidemiology and prevention research at NIAA,
told CNSNews.com, “There are many Americans who travel to China each year
and they should be made aware of the HIV problem.”
Hingson said that Americans will be able to apply the studies findings to
the American situation because 1.2 million Americans are currently living
with HIV.
Li’s research includes exploration, development, implementation and
evaluation. Currently, the project stands at the exploration stage, which
the doctor expects to last 18 months.
“The first phase is kind of an exploratory study just trying to get a good
understanding of the phenomena in the population of female sex workers in
China. The second phase is the program development,” the professor told
CNSNews.com
Phase two will be based on the first year of the study and on “field

“We see a lot of governmental initiatives in China, like 100 percent condom
distribution promotion programs, so they deliver condoms in those
(prostitution) venues," he added.
“The global literature indicates an important role of alcohol use in
facilitating HIV/AIDS transmission risk in commercial sex venues where
elevated alcohol use/abuse and sexual risk behaviors frequently co-occur,”
Li wrote when introducing the project last November.
"We expect that the intervention will improve protective normative beliefs
and institutional support regarding alcohol use and HIV protection,” he
added.
The NIH proposal hypothesizes that the program will decrease "problem
drinking and alcohol-related sexual risk" among prostitutes that
participate.
"We hypothesize that the venue-based intervention will change and enhance
the protective social norms and institutional policies at the establishment
level and such enhancement, accompanied by individual skill training among
FSWs, will demonstrate a sustainable effect within commercial sex
establishments in decreasing problem drinking and alcohol-related sexual
risk, increasing consistent and correct condom use, and reducing rates of
HIV/STD infection among FSWs," says the NIH abstract.

RABBIS from Britain's Jewish community have become the first mainstream
religious grouping to authorise a gay marriage service.
Liberal Judaism, which counts Michael Howard and Michael Grade among its
adherents, has produced a new liturgy, Covenant of Love, to coincide with
the Civil Partnership Act, which takes effect on December 5, 2005
In accompanying literature, Liberal Judaism says the ceremony may be
described as a "wedding" by rabbis and follows the format of a traditional
Jewish wedding service under the chuppah or canopy and with the ceremonial
breaking of glass symbolising the brokenness of the world. It also includes
a same-sex version of the seven blessings said at heterosexual Jewish
weddings.
The service, in a booklet read from right to left and printed in Hebrew and
English, invokes God as the "divine presence" who embraces both male and
female. It warns the happy couple as they begin their new lives as
consecrated partners: "We remember that we live in a
world as yet unredeemed, where joys and sorrows, love and hatred, acceptance
and prejudice are commingled."
There are 33 Liberal congregations in the UK, and the community numbers
about 12,000. Of the 31 rabbis who belong to the movement's Rabbinic
Conference, four are lesbian and two are gay. The flagship Liberal Jewish
Synagogue in St John's Wood, North London, is one of
the best-known synagogues in the world.
Rabbi Alexandra Wright, senior rabbi at the Liberal Jewish Synagogue, said
she would be offering the new liturgy to anyone who asked for a gay wedding.
"It is consistent with the religious and ethical principles to which Liberal
Judaism adheres, namely that each individual is created in the divine image
and that, regardless of sexuality or gender, all are equal. It would be
unethical for us to discriminate against members on grounds of sexuality."
Rabbi Roderick Young, a member of both the Reform and Liberal movements,
this year went to Canada, where gay weddings are legal, to marry his partner
David Mooney. He said: "I applaud the Liberal movement for doing this. It is
fantastic."
Rabbi Danny Rich, chief executive of Liberal Judaism, said: "We are not
worried it will be controversial although we expect it may be. It is a
matter of justice for us."
The Reform movement, which trains its rabbis alongside Liberal rabbis at Leo
Baeck College in North London, is still considering its response to the
Civil Partnership Act.
The Orthodox movement, headed by the Chief Rabbi Sir Jonathan Sacks, refuses
to entertain the concept.
Rabbi Dr Julian Shindler, of the Office of the Chief Rabbi, said: "There is
no prospect of the mainstream Orthodox community permitting same-sex
commitment or marriage ceremonies. Orthodox Jews are bound by biblical and
rabbinic law, which only condones sexual relationships between a man and a
woman who are married."
Bishops in the Church of England have ruled out a blessing service for
couples joined in civil partnership, although many clergy are expected to
perform them illicitly to meet pastoral need. The Vatican has ruled that gay
men cannot go to seminary if they are sexually active or, if their
homosexuality is "transitory", unless they have been celibate for three
years.

Teenage pregnancies and syphilis have risen sharply among a generation of
American school girls who were urged to avoid sex before marriage under
George Bush's evangelically-driven education policy, according to a new
report by the US's major public health body.
In a report that will surprise few of Bush's critics on the issue, the
Centres for Disease Control says years of falling rates of teenage
pregnancies and sexually transmitted disease infections under previous
administrations were reversed or stalled in the Bush years. According to the
CDC, birth rates among teenagers aged 15 or older had been in decline since
1991 but are up sharply in more than half of American states since 2005. The
study also revealed that the number of teenage females with syphilis has
risen by nearly half after a significant decrease while a two-decade fall in
the gonorrhea infection rate is being reversed. The number of Aids cases in
adolescent boys has nearly doubled.
The CDC says that southern states, where there is often the greatest
emphasis on abstinence and religion, tend to have the highest rates of
teenage pregnancy and STDs.
In addition, about 16,000 pregnancies were reported among 10- to 14-year-old
girls in 2004 and a similar number of young people in the age group reported
having a sexually transmitted disease.
"It is disheartening that after years of improvement with respect to teen
pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, we now see signs that progress
is stalling and many of these trends are going in the wrong direction," said
Janet Collins, a CDC director.
Although the CDC does not attribute a cause, groups that support
comprehensive sex education have seized on the report as evidence of the
failure of religiously-driven policies that shy away from teaching about
contraception in favour of emphasising avoiding sexual contact.
Planned Parenthood said the CDC report is "alarming" and confirms that
teenagers need "medically accurate, age-appropriate, comprehensive sex
education".
But supporters of abstinence-based education said that the new report shows
that there is too little not too much emphasis on discouraging sex before
marriage.
Kristi Hamrick, a spokeswoman for American Values, which describes itself as
a supporter of traditional marriage and "against liberal education and
cultural forces", said the abstinence message is overwhelmed by a culture
obsessed with sex.
"It is ridiculous to say that a programme we nominally invest in has failed
when it fails to overcome the most sexualised culture in world history.
Education that emphasises abstinence as the best option for teens makes up a
minuscule part of overall sex education in the United States," she said.
"In every other area of public policy - food, drugs, alcohol - we tell
children what is the best choice. It seems very bizarre that the sex
education establishment rejects the idea that we should talk to kids about
what is best for them. We don't take vodka to drivers education because
children will drink and drive."

As an Arab Muslim, watching and hearing news on what went on in Palestine
and Iraq had gotten to a nauseating point with me. There had been too much
repetition, too much unintelligent jargon, and too much vulgarity for even
devout Middle East addicts to take. My and many others’ intelligence gets
insulted everyday with not much done about it. God forbid I should forget
that those who insult are the “mighty” ones with the black suits and the
fancy ties, the ones with their sophisticated toys, ready to knock the hell
out of anyone who misbehaves.
It’s been a pattern, and an intentional one at that. They strike, kill,
enrage, and walk out clean. Our faces turn red; we scream; they turn blue.
We walk down the streets holding signs and throwing tomatoes. We let it all
out. Our faces grow back their yellow, and they stay that way. Colorful, isn’t
it?
Alarmingly, each crime committed against my people is beginning to act like
a vaccine booster, as if we were slowly adapting to humiliation. Proud men
getting their faces rubbed in sand is the order of the day. At some point it
was a Palestinian child’s bloody face into the pavement under an Israeli
boot, so rubbing an adult face in sand with an American boot is not that bad
after all!
We’re looking at a policy that aims at producing non-reaction. Acquired
helplessness. And they see it as the first step to a loving friendship. They’re
torturing, raping and bombing their way to our hearts. And since we’re dogs,
we’d continue to drool to them for attention, for love. This is their
utopian vision of us. This is how they’ve chosen to run things with the
people of a thousands-of-years-old civilization.
But as humiliated and helpless as many of us have come to feel, silent rage
is spreading among us like a dangerous plague. No, they haven’t won any “dog’s”
heart. They’ve only kept the hearts and minds of Arab rulers who gladly
prostitute their countries for cash and prestige.
As this outrageous set of atrocities piles up with time, it awakens the
proud human in any decent Muslim. They empower the will to act more
assertively, to speak louder, and to make a change. And we’re more than a
billion. We come from different parts of the world, and we live under
differing conditions. Our education ranges from a PhD to nothing. But if a
few of us get hurt, we all ache. And our reactions then vary, and range from
speaking and writing to suicide bombing.
I believe this pile just got heaviest with me. When I saw pictures of my
brothers in Iraq stripped naked I literally felt my blood boiling in a way
it hasn’t for a very long time. I found myself writing for the first time in
four years.
There isn’t much I can write that hasn’t already been written by many others
or spoken by many more. But since there appears to be a massive state of
ignorance on the policy making level, allow me to use some basic teaching
techniques usually applied on Alzheimer patients: repetition.
Invade a country and treat its people like sheep and you’ll be loathed for
generations. The Israelis still suffer from that mistake; the infamous “a
land without people to people without land” dogma, which is translated in
each Israeli policy, continues to cost many Israeli lives 56 years on. And
they haven’t learned.
And Iraqis are not Red Indians. In the 21st century everyone can see what
you think you’re doing in the dark. There are many around the world who feel
the plight of the Iraqis as you rip at their culture, not hundreds of years
later.
Finally, add more oppression to the oppressed, take away the little they
have left and they will turn violent. This is a basic equation. Politics
101.
“Objectivity” tells me that those pictures I saw reflected the acts of a
deranged few, and that those few will receive their well-deserved punishment
at the hands of their commanders. But much to the displeasure of the
American administration, I am a rational being, and I come from the Middle
East. Some of the old commanders and politicians who took charge throughout
the turbulent history of this part of the world had pasts not dissimilar to
the present of the sick minds they recruit today. And that lady posing next
to the prisoners is part of the package. We’ve seen this only too many
times. Ask any Arab ex-prisoner who fought a war with Israel.
And now, with a smiling face, I’m expected to give reassuring answers to
angry patriotic Americans echoing the blond heads that popped on television
right after 9/11: “Why do they hate us?” A question the media has managed to
scare every American with. And many have internalized and believed it.
One thing: Get your honorable liberators out of our land. As each day passes
you convince more and more people to really hate you this time, and fight to
the very last drop of their boiling blood.

WASHINGTON (UPI) -- There are seven million Muslims in the United States,
according to a new report published by the Council on American-Islamic
relations.
The report compiled by the Hartford Institute for Religious Research shows
that U.S. Muslims are theological conservatives with a mixed view of
American life.
On the positive side, 99 percent agree either "strongly" (82%) or "somewhat"
that "America is a technologically advanced society that we can learn from.
Moreover, 35 percent feel strongly that America is an example for freedom
and democracy, and 42 percent concur "somewhat" with this statement.
However, two thirds are either strongly (28%) or somewhat (39%) of the
opinion that America is an immoral, corrupt society. This view was most
forcefully expressed by African-American Muslims, who account for 30 percent
of the followers of Islam.
Of this group, 39 percent agreed "strongly" with the claim that "America" is
immoral. By contrast, only 23 percent of the southern Indian immigrants or
their descendants share this feeling as adamantly, according to the Hartford
report.
On the other hand, only 15 percent of the American Muslims agreed strongly
with the statement that American society was hostile to their faith. Another
42 percent, however, told researchers that this was "somewhat" true.
Compared with Europe, the Muslim population in America is still relatively
small. Germany whose population of 82 million is less than one third as
large as that of the U.S. has 3.2 million Muslim residents. France,
population 60 million, has four million Muslims, who are by now the
second-largest religious group in that country.
In the Netherlands, chiefly in Rotterdam, scores of churches have been
converted because their former Christian members had deserted them.
"In many European countries church attendance is so low that the day does
not seem far off when weekly worshipers of the Islamic faith will outnumber
regular churchgoers," IDEA, a Protestant wire-service, predicted years ago.
In the United States, 46 percent of Christians attend services at least once
a week, compared with one-tenth of church members in many Western European
countries. Nevertheless, it is still considerably less than the 76 percent
of Muslim men who go to mosque for Friday prayers in America.
Like Christians, American Muslims are by no means a homogenous group. There
are 40 different Islamic denominations of which the Islamic Society of North
America is the largest. Of the 1,209 U.S. mosques, 27 percent adhere to this
organization, the Hartford Study shows.
The average membership of an American mosque numbers 1,625. This is 25
percent more than in 1994 when the Hartford Institute conducted its last
survey of American mosques. This brings the number of U.S. Muslims
associated with a house of worship to two million, out of a total of seven
million.
Of those who participate in the life of an American Mosque, 75 percent are
male, 81 percent have a high school diploma and 48 percent a college degree.
Almost 30 percent of American Muslims are converts from other religions. In
Europe, by contrast, the number of conversions to Islam is insignificant,
according to a recent IDEA report.
Theologically, American mosques are very strict. When asked, "How important
are the following sources of authority in the worship and teachings of your
mosque," 95 percent of the respondents described the Koran as "absolutely
foundational," and 90 percent said the same about the Sunnah (teachings) Of
Mohammed.
Similarly, 96 percent reported that their mosques emphasized in their
teaching abstinence from alcohol and from sex outside marriage.

............. It is a myth repeated so often that many have accepted it as truth and evidence of an obviously insane religion. It is the myth of the 72 virgins.
Today, when news of suicide bombing appears in the headlines, it is automatically assumed that some crazy Arab must have decimated himself to have sex with his virgins in paradise.
Islam does not promise 72 virgins, or any forms of reward whatsoever for anyone who commits suicide. It is a totally absurd lie.
The virgin myth has understandably received more than its fair share of publicity due to its hilarity and “romance”. The image of a lunatic suicide bomber taking his pick from 72 luscious virgins fires up the imagination of anybody with a libido. At the very least, it makes for a particularly gratifying affirmation for those who would love to see Islam go down the gutters.
The harsh punishment that Islam bestows upon its followers who commit murder and suicide has been spelt out very clearly in the Quran:
But let there be amongst you Traffic and trade by mutual good-will: Nor kill (or destroy) yourselves: for verily God hath been to you Most Merciful! If any do that in rancor and injustice, soon shall We cast them into the Fire: And easy it is for God.
Chapter 4 (Surah An-Nisa): Verse 29 - 30
Besides that, suicide has also been highlighted as a major sin with dire consequences in several authentic Hadith, or sayings of the Prophet. Two of the more commonly quoted sayings are as follows:
Narrated Jundab the Prophet said, “A man was inflicted with wounds and he committed suicide, and so Allah said: My slave has caused death on himself hurriedly, so I forbid Paradise for him.” (Bukhari Volume 2, Book 23, Number 445)
Narrated Thabit bin Ad-Dahhak:”And if somebody commits suicide with anything in this world, he will be tortured with that very thing on the Day of Resurrection. (Bukhari Volume 8, Book 73, Number 73)
The condemnation Islam has towards suicide is so grave that it would be unthinkable for its followers to regard sex as a reward if they were to take their lives. So how was this myth engineered in the first place and where does the figure of 72 virgins come about?
It comes from an alleged saying of the Prophet which has not been verified nor authenticated. Muslims refer to these dubious sayings as Gharib Hadiths and largely do not believe in them. Even then, nothing in it mentioned virgins:
The Prophet Muhammad was heard as saying: “The smallest reward for the people of Paradise is an abode where there are 80,000 servants and 72 wives, over which stands a dome decorated with pearls, aquamarine, and ruby, as wide as the distance from Al-Jabiyyah (a Damascus suburb) to Sana’a (Yemen)” - Sunan al-Tirmidhi Hadith 2562
Again, it must be stressed upon that the above saying cannot be verified as authentic due to the fact that there is a discrepancy in its Sanad, or chain of transmitters. As such, Muslims are not required to believe in these Hadith for there is a chance that it may have been fabricated or corrupted along the way.
Even so, as dubious as it may be, nowhere does it mention anything about virgins being rewarded to anyone who commit suicide for any reason. What it does mention however are wives, which scholars have argued, should not be translated literally for it may convey a metaphorical meaning. Like mentioned, even Muslims do not believe that Hadith, but westerners have definitely made hay with it.
Today, the myth of the 72 virgins remains potent ammunition for those who wish to see their point of view prevail against Islam. Entities like the media have twisted this alleged saying to suit their fancies and smear Islam with ridicule and humiliation.
So, when a Palestinian youth is driven to kill him self to destroy Israeli soldiers, it is because he wants to indulge himself in endless heavenly erotica. It is never about the mistreatment of the Israelis. Nothing is done to show the real reason why so many young chaps have offered to give up their lives.
Suicide killing is a phenomenon of desperation. From the days Kamikaze pilots fly themselves onto American ships, to Tamil rebels exploding themselves in political rallies, to wayward fanatics flying into buildings – suicide killers are people driven to the edge.
While the act of committing suicide to kill others should be deplored, it is perhaps more important to examine what drives them to do it. Men with wives and families do not just kill themselves. Very often, people fail to see the real reason why such an act of desperation is undertaken but instead conveniently believes in myths such as the 72 virgins.

Proof that 9/11 Truthers Are Dangerous

March 08, 2010 "Washington's Blog" -- Most Americans don't know what kind of people 9/11 truthers really are. So they can't figure out whether or not they are dangerous.
Below is a list of people who question what our Government has said about 9/11.
The list proves - once and for all - that people who question 9/11 are dangerous.
Email this list to everyone you know, to prove to them that 9/11 truthers are all dangerous nut cases.
Senior intelligence officers:
Former military analyst and famed whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg said that the case of a certain 9/11 whistleblower is "far more explosive than the Pentagon Papers". He also said that the government is ordering the media to cover up her allegations about 9/11. And he said that some of the claims concerning government involvement in 9/11 are credible, that "very serious questions have been raised about what they [U.S. government officials] knew beforeh and and how much involvement there might have been", that engineering 9/11 would not be humanly or psychologically beyond the scope of the current administration, and that there's enough evidence to justify a new, "hard-hitting" investigation into 9/11 with subpoenas and testimony taken under oath.
A 27-year CIA veteran, who chaired National Intelligence Estimates and personally delivered intelligence briefings to Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush, their Vice Presidents, Secretaries of State, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and many other senior government officials (Raymond McGovern) said “I think at simplest terms, there’s a cover-up. The 9/11 Report is a joke”, and is open to the possibility that 9/11 was an inside job.
A 29-year CIA veteran, former National Intelligence Officer (NIO) and former Director of the CIA's Office of Regional and Political Analysis (William Bill Christison) said “I now think there is persuasive evidence that the events of September did not unfold as the Bush administration and the 9/11 Commission would have us believe. ... All three [buildings that were destroyed in the World Trade Center] were most probably destroyed by controlled demolition charges placed in the buildings before 9/11." (and see this).
A number of intelligence officials, including a CIA Operations Officer who co-chaired a CIA multi-agency task force coordinating intelligence efforts among many intelligence and law enforcement agencies (Lynne Larkin) sent a joint letter to Congress expressing their concerns about “serious shortcomings,” “omissions,” and “major flaws” in the 9/11 Commission Report and offering their services for a new investigation (they were ignored)
20-year Marine Corps infantry and intelligence officer, the second-ranking civilian in U.S. Marine Corps Intelligence, and former CIA clandestine services case officer (David Steele) stated that "9/11 was at a minimum allowed to happen as a pretext for war", and it was probably an inside job (scroll down to Customer Review dated October 7, 2006).
A decorated 20-year CIA veteran, who Pulitzer-Prize winning investigative reporter Seymour Hersh called "perhaps the best on-the-ground field officer in the Middle East”, and whose astounding career formed the script for the Academy Award winning motion picture Syriana (Robert Baer) said that "the evidence points at" 9/11 having had aspects of being an inside job
The Division Chief of the CIA’s Office of Soviet Affairs, who served as Senior Analyst from 1966 - 1990. He also served as Professor of International Security at the National War College from 1986 - 2004 (Melvin Goodman) said "The final [9/11 Commission] report is ultimately a coverup."
Professor of History and International Relations, University of Maryland. Former Executive Assistant to the Director of the National Security Agency, former military attaché in China, with a 21-year career in U.S. Army Intelligence (Major John M. Newman, PhD, U.S. Army) questions the government's version of the events of 9/11.
Congressmen:
According to the Co-Chair of the Congressional Inquiry into 9/11 and former Head of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Bob Graham, an FBI informant had hosted and rented a room to two hijackers in 2000 and that, when the Inquiry sought to interview the informant, the FBI refused outright, and then hid him in an unknown location, and that a high-level FBI official stated these blocking maneuvers were undertaken under orders from the White House (confirmed here)
Current Democratic U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy said "The two questions that the congress will not ask . . . is why did 9/11 happen on George Bush's watch when he had clear warnings that it was going to happen? Why did they allow it to happen?"
Current Republican Congressman Ron Paul calls for a new 9/11 investigation and states that "we see the [9/11] investigations that have been done so far as more or less cover-up and no real explanation of what went on"
Current Democratic Congressman Dennis Kucinich hints that we aren't being told the truth about 9/11
Current Republican Congressman Jason Chafetz says that we need to be vigilant and continue to investigate 9/11
Former Democratic Senator Mike Gravel states that he supports a new 9/11 investigation and that we don't know the truth about 9/11
Former Republican Senator Lincoln Chaffee endorses a new 9/11 investigation
Former U.S. Democratic Congressman Dan Hamburg says that the U.S. government "assisted" in the 9/11 attacks, stating that "I think there was a lot of help from the inside"
Former U.S. Republican Congressman and senior member of the House Armed Services Committee, and who served six years as the Chairman of the Military Research and Development Subcommittee Curt Weldon has shown that the U.S. tracked hijackers before 9/11, is open to hearing information about explosives in the Twin Towers, and is open to the possibility that 9/11 was an inside job 9/11 Commissioners:
The Commission's co-chairs said that the 9/11 Commissioners knew that military officials misrepresented the facts to the Commission, and the Commission considered recommending criminal charges for such false statements (free subscription required)
9/11 Commission co-chair Lee Hamilton says "I don't believe for a minute we got everything right", that the Commission was set up to fail, that people should keep asking questions about 9/11, and that the 9/11 debate should continue
9/11 Commissioner Timothy Roemer said "We were extremely frustrated with the false statements we were getting"
9/11 Commissioner Max Cleland resigned from the Commission, stating: "It is a national scandal"; "This investigation is now compromised"; and "One of these days we will have to get the full story because the 9-11 issue is so important to America. But this White House wants to cover it up"
9/11 Commissioner Bob Kerrey said that "There are ample reasons to suspect that there may be some alternative to what we outlined in our version . . . We didn't have access . . . ." And the Senior Counsel to the 9/11 Commission (John Farmer) - who led the 9/11 staff's inquiry - recently said "At some level of the government, at some point in time...there was an agreement not to tell the truth about what happened". He also said "I was shocked at how different the truth was from the way it was described .... The tapes told a radically different story from what had been told to us and the public for two years.... This is not spin. This is not true."
Other government officials:
U.S. General, Commanding General of U.S. European Command and Supreme Allied Commander Europe, decorated with the Bronze Star, Silver Star, and Purple Heart (General Wesley Clark) said "We've never finished the investigation of 9/11 and whether the administration actually misused the intelligence information it had. The evidence seems pretty clear to me. I've seen that for a long time."
Former Deputy Secretary for Intelligence and Warning under Nixon, Ford, and Carter (Morton Goulder), former Deputy Director to the White House Task Force on Terrorism (Edward L. Peck), and former US Department of State Foreign Service Officer (J. Michael Springmann), as well as a who's who of liberals and independents) jointly call for a new investigation into 9/11
Former Federal Prosecutor, Office of Special Investigations, U.S. Department of Justice under Presidents Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan; former U.S. Army Intelligence officer, and currently a widely-sought media commentator on terrorism and intelligence services (John Loftus) says "The information provided by European intelligence services prior to 9/11 was so extensive that it is no longer possible for either the CIA or FBI to assert a defense of incompetence."
The Group Director on matters of national security in the U.S. Government Accountability Office said that President Bush did not respond to unprecedented warnings of the 9/11 disaster and conducted a massive cover-up instead of accepting responsibility
President of the U.S. Air Force Accident Investigation Board, who also served as Pentagon Weapons Requirement Officer and as a member of the Pentagon's Quadrennial Defense Review, and who was awarded Distinguished Flying Crosses for Heroism, four Air Medals, four Meritorious Service Medals, and nine Aerial Achievement Medals (Lt. Col. Jeff Latas) is a member of a group which doubts the government's version of 9/11
Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense under President Ronald Reagan (Col. Ronald D. Ray) said that the official story of 9/11 is "the dog that doesn't hunt"
The former director of the FBI (Louis Freeh) says there was a cover up by the 9/11 Commission
Director of the U.S. "Star Wars" space defense program in both Republican and Democratic administrations, who was a senior air force colonel who flew 101 combat missions (Col. Robert Bowman) stated: "If our government had merely [done] nothing, and I say that as an old interceptor pilot—I know the drill, I know what it takes, I know how long it takes, I know what the procedures are, I know what they were, and I know what they’ve changed them to—if our government had merely done nothing, and allowed normal procedures to happen on that morning of 9/11, the Twin Towers would still be standing and thousands of dead Americans would still be alive. [T]hat is treason!"
Numerous other politicians, judges, legal scholars, and attorneys also question at least some aspects of the government's version of 9/11.

You can call it lies, but how many, if any, Israelis didn't show up for work that day? Where does this number of 4,000 come from?
On 9/11, the Israelis Ambassador told CNN that 4,000 Israeli nationals, upon research and partially by inquiry by worried relatives, to be living or working in or around the WTC, who remained in that early day un reached, unaccounted for, and a matter of urgent concern to the Israelis.
As it turned out, by the most updated official Israeli count, no Israeli workers at all died at the WTC. One Israeli did die there, but he was visiting, not doing regularly scheduled work. One other Israeli died during 9/11: Daniel Lewin, killed on one of the planes by the hijackers, by a single gunshot to the head (!), according to an internal FAA memo report later said to be in error. But the official story still says he was on that plane, and killed before the plane crashed, just with a box cutter (to the head?) instead of a gun.
Those were the only 2 Israelis killed anywhere during 9/11, and none of them worked at the WTC.
That is a miraculously low figure for Israeli worker deaths at the WTC (zero). Do none work there? Did they all show up there late that day, and therefore not enter the buildings at all? Did they show up, enter the buildings, and just coincidentally, all make it out? (Having heard no miraculous escape stories involving Israelis, probably no to this last one).
Now the largest Israeli employer at the WTC, a firm co-owned by the Israeli government, which had leased an entire floor on one of the towers, had moved out about 5 weeks before 9/11, citing money concerns, but incurring a $50,000 penalty for breaking their lease (and presumably having the balance of the lease accelerated, due and payable).
Another Israeli owned firm within the vicinity, Odigo, received instant messages advising them to evacuate the area a couple of hours before the first plane hit the WTC. The firm's local management was on record by name confirming this, and that the IP address for that message's origination site had been recorded and turned over to the FBI, was reported in the Washington Post's 'Newsbytes' news service.
All of this tends to lend credence to the idea that Israelis got advance notice, given that one firm reported itself that it received an instant message to that effect, and that no Israeli workers died there that day.
But did Israel have advance knowledge? THEY THEMSELVES SAY THEY DID, and warned the US repeatedly, both by themselves, and by having other national governments pass on the Israeli warnings. Mubarek's very explicit warning, of 20 some odd hijackers who would attack domestic symbols of national prestige, was a pass on from the Israelis (who thought their own warnings were falling on deaf ears).
And how would the Israelis know? As one of the preeminent Jewish national publications, The Forward, has published, citing Israeli admissions on background, the so-called 'art students spy ring' of some hundreds of Israelis was exactly a monitoring operation, with several Israeli teams moving in mere blocks away from the Atta crew's residences in south Florida, as occurred on Sheridan Street in Hollywood, Florida.
