Two sheep and a little pet dog were killed and the offending dogs seen
ruynning into a property where lives 33 unregistered dogs.
Dog control was contacted buit refused to enter the property . The people
that suffered the attack from the illeagal dog owner took action to
safeguard their stock and the children of the neighbourhood that were
certainly vulnerable with attack dogs ravaging prowling the aera.
It certainly needs to go to court but at the end of the day all the dogs
were unregistered and the cullers were merely protecting their family from
dog terror. No human was harmed.

After your previous post about dogs I wonder if it wasn't you that
organized or went on this holy crusade against cute little puppies and
doggie-woggies.
It had to be some-one equally insane..
Words fail me!
Those dogs went to the shooters farm took out 2 sheep and killed theirt pet
dog.
The dogs owner was not confining or training them.
Something had to be done their were two many to control and if they all got
out they could sweep the countryside like a plague of knashing teeth Chewing
up anything in their path.
You can't blame the farmers when the dof control turned their back on the
dogs.

With the same logic, 2 mongrel members shoot someone, so rather than
bringing those to justice through the courts, lets round up the whole
lot and fucking shoot them irrespective of the law (though I can
imagine some of you are saying not a bad idea). Its not just or
exactly civilized, is it?. For a christian you have a thin idea of
what is morally acceptable, or is this the canine inquisition?.
What a load of rubbish

. Sounds like lots were harmed - the guys whose dogs were shot and the spca
officers that attended after the event.

But rather than taking the dogs out separately and shooting them away from
the others, the man randomly started shooting the dogs with a .22 rifle,
says Mr Hawkings.
There were seven dogs in one large cage and they started shooting at the
dogs through the wire, he says.
The dogs were screaming, some trying to hide and others with skin coming off
as they tried to climb through the wire, he says.

There is absolutely no proof whatsoever that any of the dogs attacked sheep
or that they killed the neighbour's fox terrier. None of the other
neighbouring farmers had any complaints about the dogs and they have been
there for years. The dogs weren't allowed to roam freely ,why do you lie?

How come your story is totally different to that of the SPCA or the Rodney
District Council?
The only reason the coucil dog control officers didn't enter the property
was because they felt they needed more than two officers to enter the
property. None of the dogs were wandering in the neighburhood ,they were
well contained and they weren't aggressive .
The dogs were well cared for , the only thing wrong was that they weren't
registered. I agree
there were probably too many .
Thereis no excuse for the way the animals were slaughtered or for holding a
gun tothe owners head to get him to sign
a piece of paper allowing them to kill the dogs.

Police are investigating the incident, looking at firearms' registration and
possible charges of reckless discharge of a gun, spokesman Kevin Loughlin
said.Animal cruelty charges are also likely.
Russell Mendoza confronted the neighbor, Rowan Hargreaves, complaining that
one of Hargreaves' 39 dogs had killed his fox terrier.and forced him to sign
a piece of paper allowing them to kill some dogs. Mendoza and another man,
armed with a .22 rifle and a shotgun, later returned to Hargreaves' property
and shot 33 dogs, including 23 puppies and very young dogs. There is no
evidence to suggest any of the dogs killed the foxy or sheep.

The two men involved aren't insane ,they are vile human beings.
This case of animal cruelty is so vile it is now news in many major
international newspapers and on major news websites such as Huffington Post,
msnbc , timesonline and numerous others-.
The dog that attacked the sheep had already been put down voluntarily by Mr
Hargreaves who saw the dog attack the sheep.
None of the slaughtered dogs were the offender , it and another with
similar colourings were already dead.
QUOTE:
Mr Hargreaves has admitted that he found one of his dogs attacking a sheep a
day before the slaughter. He destroyed the animal, and another with similar
colourings.

The witness to the shooting Richard Hawkings was a close friend of
Russell Mendoza's as well as Mr Hargreaves the dogs owner and says he will
never forgive Mendoza for what he did.
"It's hard because I mean, these puppies... You know, you can't forgive
that. You can't. I can't even get the words around it."
--
I can't get over the insane shooting of the puppies.
That has to be sick. There is no excuse for that.
You might approve of dogs eating little children however I find the thought
a horror. The SPCA might put dangerous dogs above the lives of human babies
but I'm not an animal freak I'm an animal fan.

The owner was training his dogs to attack his neighbour. That training could
not go on.
The Dog control refused to act.
The owner failed to register dogs he trained to kill.
Pups?
Are you really this stupid or is it something you have to work at.
The dogs that supposedly worried the sheep and killed the small dog
were NOT pups.
And 'trained to kill' ?
And your claim that he was training the dogs to attack his neighbour
has to be one of the daftest claims you've ever made
Two police officers very recently bashed by gang members.
If those responcible are caught thet should go through the courts and be
placed in Jail if the court deems them guilty of initiating a violent
confrontation against police serving the public.
They should get 20 years with parole possibilities.
Concerning the dogs.
Owners have to learn that if they want to keep dogs they have to build
appropriate confinement.
Because at certain times dogs can become monsters.
I do not advocate making dog jails. Unless an inceacse of Dog registration
pays for it.
Then a dog can go to jail if it bites someone.
For five years.
If two dogs are seen fighting and one draws blood.
That dog can go to jail for 5 years to.
If a dog kills a Human it can go to jail for the rest of its natural life.
If a dog kills another animal it can go to jail for the rest of its natural
life.
If dogs are seen attacking a neighbopurs stock and caught on video.
The dog owner should be jailed for 1 years and the dog for 5.
Thats my view.
Though due to currant legislation.
and given the circumstances and the temparature of late.
culling the lot seemed the right thing to do to alleviate the frustration
over loss of the pet.

I think you should put your ear back down to the ground because I
doubt very much ant SPCA people were shot or even there during the
shooting.
The Dog control officer was to scared to do his job they were called
but were willing to risk further attacks. The cullers were unwilling
to risk either further attacks or the owner hiding dogs with friends
until Dog control had stopped pestering .
Those dogs had the shooters backs to the wall and they did all they
could do to defend their livelyhood and safetyof any youngens in the
aera.
You may thrill to a teen or lady jogger savagely ripped to shreds but
these men didn't.

You missed the 3 news item I watched.
What's it worth if I prove you wrong?
Christ's love
Sadly CK the 'news' is not particualrly accurate - and various news
reports on this incident may have been contradictory and confused you.
Two guys with no proof turned up carrying firearms and told (did not ask
and remember carrying firearms) the dogs owner to sign a letter giving
them permission to destroy the dogs he owned.
The then went on a shotting spree. Using a shot gun and a 22 rifle.
I have a couple of box cutters rusting up in salt water to be used on
these twos non existent balls.
If these two do not do time then there is something wrong.
It is intimidation with firearms, it is pure cruelty to animals.
Wake up to just how brave those two were. and apparently there were two.
The keeper of 33 dogs admitted his dogs attacked their sheep. Now when that
was suppose to be sorted and their little pet dog gets ripped apart how
could they possibly not put 2x2 together.
They championed both the boy on the by7cylce that was nearly eaten alive.
All the babies that come close to having their heads ripped off. Women
joggers that need fresh air like everyone else.
If you have dogs secure them properly obey the law .
Register them and redtrain them and do not teach them to kill.
Proof he taught them to attack is they did and he was responcible for their
neighbourly respect.
Go collect 40 dogs.
But dont let them out of your sight for a single minute Doctor Dolittle.
Evil types that protect dog fighting do disturb my calm.
Christ's love
A snip or two
Lets get this in perspective
1. There were dog attacks concerning sheep and a domestic dog
2. The sheep attacking dogs where seen in the area of this mans property.
3. He reacted and destroyed two dogs that sought of matched the
description given
4. He has demonstrated responsible care and containment of his dogs and
has support from other neighbors in this statement
5. He was approached by two peoplke bearing a shotgun and 22 rifle who
insisted he sign a letter to allow the dogs he owned to be destroyed.
6. They proceeded to destroy the dogs in a manner that was less than
satisfactory.
The rest of the story is pretty much sub judice and cannot be reported,
now I might have more or less info than others on this so lets confine
ourselves to the facts.
My own point of view is that the police should be out there and
confiscating these guys firearm licenses and investigating a case
against them.
I hope that they are being charged with cruelty offenses in the most
severe way possible to lay these charges.
As I said I may have more or less info than others but either way it is
a case of ballless rednecks becoming vigilantes!
PS I havnt owned a dog for quite a few years, I am a farmers son and
grew up on a farm and recognize that I cannot provide for a dog in my
current situation, that said I owned a dog in the 70's and 80's who went
every where with me including to the office etc.
Liar.He said quite the opposite, that there was no proof his dogs mauled
their sheep..

He's on a dfferent planet on almostevery subject.
CK lives in a different dimension to the rest of us. He's not the full quid.
On channel one the killer dog breeder said no one physically saw his dogs
attacking.
But Tilly shared from the Herald that he himself saw them and admitted.
My question is had he killed the sheep attackers before the little pet was
mangled?
Was it the same dogs or different dogs?.
Had he informed the neighbours he had killed the attacking dogs?
There are still questions to answer concerning these drinking buddies.
The main thing is that a great unregistered danger to the community has now
been lifted.
Christ's love
I have not seen any media report that said anything of the sort. In
fact quite the contrary - the dog owner apparently said there was no
evidence it was one of his dogs at all.

What we have here is one of those people who invent 'facts' and then
lie like a rug to avoid having to say that they got it wrong.
His claim to have 'lived' on a farm' is amusing.
Obviously it wasn't long enough because he learnt nothing..
The gunman who owns the Garden Centre may as well sell the business as
he's going to get hassled.
Claiming the dogs were defending themselves against wild roaming sheep is

The only reason for dog registration as far as councils are concerned is to
provide extra funds for their coffers. As somone who owns a registered dog I
can tell you I get nothing from it.
Is your dog chipped? If yes is the answer then you have the security
of it being not put to sleep if the SPCa find it wandering collarless.
Christ's love
Just found two rabid right wing christians wandering around the street
preaching mindless vindictive faith. Both weren't wearing collars and
were harassing decent folk with messages of hate and eternal damnation
in the pits of hell. Screw the law, I fucking shot them.
Peace and love, Monsignor Agnostica vaginus.
Doesn't registration enable the Council to catch and ultimately
dispose of tray dogs that are not registered? Being registered
presumably means your dog may be able to be returned to you should it
become lost, and means that un-registered dogs can be prevented from
continuing to be a hazard.
Perhaps you would prefer unaccompanied dogs to be able to be caught
and / or disposed of by anyone who finds them?
Are there any other public benefits to dog registration apart from the
increase to council funds that Tilly identified?
It's better a stray dog is linked to it's owner to enable the council to
spare it's life and that they know who to fine if the dog bites.

What concern?
Anybody who orders a "filet-o-fido" deserves what they get.
????? I have *never* heard of a farmer that has trouble with *his* dogs
attacking sheep. Farm dogs are almost always tethered in some way when they
are not working. They are too precious to leave loose and maybe lose or get
run over.
Whoever you are talking about they are not a "farmer" a in a professional
farmer. Maybe they have land and a few stock but they are no farmers. You
are making judgements based on wierdos that you know.
Yeah! So there! Brasen!
Well maybe they are a bit lax or incompetent around your parts. Around here
the dogs of dubious temperament dont ever get to "farm dog" status. Those
that are selected to become farm dogs will get a lot of training and a lot
of care. They are always controlled, either tethered or caged or under
watchful eye cos they are just too valuable for them to come into any harm.
The only dogs that have been shot around here for worrying sheep have been
pig dogs. Big difference.
Gay
That would probably be true for professional shepherds' dogs, but less
so for dogs on mixed and small farms. Where I grew up in the former
Ellesmere and Springs counties, many farms were mixed livestock-
cropping or small-scale dairying and had one dog the training and care
of which tended to be far below the sort of standard described above.
Sheep-worrying by such dogs was not common, but it did happen from
time to time. It would be the talk of the district when one farmer
shot another's dog caught in the act.
And then there were the people who lived in rented farmhouses (I am
talking about a time before the lifestyler fashion started) who often
kept pet dogs that were allowed to run free. I remember when one of
my friends' fathers shot a pedigree samoyed which he caught worrying
his sheep. The townie renters who owned it seemed to think that he
should have just shooed it away.
LW
For years we were the last house on top of the hill in Brooklyn
West and we had sheep behind us and cattle at the end of the
street. The cockie was notorious for knocking off local dogs, of
which there were plenty, it actually being part of metro
Wellington. One day he turned up outside our place asking whether
the dead stafford on his trailer was ours. Fortunately our guy
never got off the section and it turned out to belong to his
sister, which was quite satisfactory although a bit tough on the
dog.
