New Zealand children are far to dumb when comapared to other western
countries.
The National government in trying to change this has brought in a challenge
for the western worlds most drunk lazy teaches.
The Government is bringing in a national standard that children shall be
expected to rise to. If teachers cannot meet the required standard for their
charges hopefully they shall be given a chance or two and then carefully
told they have made the wrong carreer choice and to find another job.

CK do share your insight. Where did you find out about the 'western
worlds most drunk lazy teaches'. Where are they?

I await your reply.

P.s. i've straighted out the needle, so you can go the full monty

Jesus wept. CK, I don't think you realize but you seem to be the
product of 20 years of an inept NZ education system.

Then you have no qualms about a few rules I propose for the children's
benefit.
School teacher are not drink any Alcohol on or off school grounds
Not to show flesh above the ankles and wrists.
Must wear a hat outdoors at all times.
No smoking on or off school grounds.

period.
No Tattoo's , No pairings.
Only legally Married or completely single people on the job.

A human being is a part of the whole called by us 'the universe', a part
limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and
feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion
of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us,
restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few
persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this
prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living
creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.

Somethiong happened last night just before I went to bed.
A big spider seemed excited and was running up and down the bedroom window.
Big black spider.A lot of big dead flies were on the cill.
I sprayed it and flushed it down the loo.
. Then I put on my pajama top and sat at the computer.
I felt a crawling feeling on my kneck and upper back.
I took off my top and there was an identicle big black spider with a large
abdomin in the top.
I squashed it.
Coincidence or a very quick intellegent revenge?
Bad partner or mate .
I noticed during the day I had a bite pimple on my chin from the previous

So this was a team of spiders feasting on anything they could find.
This is the common big black spider that makes webs usually just outside but
this time inside an open window.

And I am sure that you would want children to have a well balanced
education CK - not restricted just to reading, writing and arithmetic.
Sadly National are imposing requirements on schools that will put
undue emphasis on a small number of issues, leading to imbalance, and
potentially destroying the success that our education system is
delivering. On National Radio this morning a list of comparisons of
our achievements compared to those of other countries was given - we
do very very well. NAtionals testing regime will do nothing for the
students who are doing very well, and nothing for those that teachers
already know are not doing well. National were saying that the testing
was to identify schools that are doing better. Now they understand it
won;t do that they have backed off, but now John Key is saying it will
identify bettter teachers. It won't do that either, but it will
distract all teachers from their job, for no net benefit to parents
(who already know from teachers how well their child is doing), and no
net benefit to students.

And now National are spending $200,000 for a campaign to try and
explain benefits to all those parents that they claim were clamouring
for National standard - abd the only one they have found is Michael
Laws . . .

That comment shows just how clueless you are, Rich-bot: CK has posted
on several occasions that should (poor kids ever be unfortunate enough
to be involved with) he be(ing) a father, that CK wants them bible-
bashed and indoctrinated: CK does not want breadth or critical thought
anywhere near such unfortunates as he might propagate.

> National are spending $200,000 for a campaign to try and

So (Labour's) $800,000 on a wooly electioneering 'pledge card' is OK,
but (National's) $200,000 explaining how an election promise is being
delivered on is not OK?

What is it in the above that upsets you:
- National spending 1/4 of what Labour did?
- National delivering on an election promise?

Elsewhere CK has said libraries should not provide adult fiction free
- that would exclude his Bible. But whatever his view of a well
balanced education, I am sure it encompasses more than is involved in
the so-called "National Standards".

Just because you think one thing that Labour spent money on was waste,
does that in your mind excuse National from its own waste? Why does
what a previous government did make any difference to the waste of
money John Key has just approved?

Why do you and your unionist-handlers misrepresent the National
Standards will place some sort of restriction on what will be taught -
as if there will be some sort of manic prevention of teaching anything
else?

The National Standards are merely one metric.

Rich-bot, if you are going to oppose a single metric for measuring a
broad area, then you should have been opposing:
- the PBRF-funding of universities that went on
under Labour,
- the mantra around 'poverty' or 'income inequality'
that went on under Labour as a way of
understanding living standards
- etc.

You just dont like this one metric because:
- It was a National promise to the electotate
- National are delivering on an election promise
- the unions oppose it
- it is not a Labour idea

I dont think that 5cents per person to communicate how an election
promise is being implimented is a waste -esp given the disinformation
being put out by objecting unionists and the likes of you.

And you appear to fail to see the difference between communicating the
implimentation of an election promise (which is something that you
have previously - under a Labour government - said was an important
part of a governments role) as opposed to vapid electioneering.

Your double standards are clear for all to see, Rich-bot.

Actually it is because it has not worked when tried overseas. I know a
primary school teacher who has taught in the UK - where the
regimentation is stifling and counterproductive, the reporting
oppressive and time-wasting. There are many schools here with
excellent methods of reporting progress to parents, including relative
progress compared with others. The new National Standards add an
unnecessary workload to teachers that will be a detraction for the
majority of students, and irrelevant for the rest.

And yet another expert points out that measuring everyone to find out

The money being spent to try and rescue this failed policy will not
help anyone - let alone children who need help.

Rodney Hide giot it right - this is a 'do-nothing' Prime Minister -
they are only concerned with sound-bites and PR; like the cycle track
this policy will do nothing for the problems a small proportion of our

Not to show flesh above the ankles and wrists.

John Key now says it is all about finding out who are the poor
teachers, CK. But what if one teacher starts out with children that
can read a bit, and the other with children that not only can't read,
but speak another language and don't get well cared for at home?

The one that gets the 30% passes may be the better teacher - in fact
some of the best teachers enjoy the challenge of children who need a
lot more help.

It is similar to surgeons - the one with the highest death rate on the
theatre table may be the best surgeon - that surgeon may be prepared
to operate on marginal cases where the patient will die if not
operated on, but where other surgeons know they do not have the skill
to complete a successful operation.. . . .

The standards are a blunt instrument that can very easily be
mis-interpreted to get rid of our best teachers. Yet National are
keeping going wasting resources measuring what teachers already know
and creating an army of bureaucrats, while taking away resources that
would help those children who need more attention and specialist help.

I thought the year 1 reading standard was bizarre. By the end of year one
kids are expected to be able to read a story about a Rhinoceros, under stand
it and answer questions about it.

I would have thought that by the end of year 1, many kids would still be
having difficulty saying Rhinoceros!

I'm not recommending teachers perform brainsugury.
I'm not meaning between schools I'm meaning when a primary school has three
year 1 classes and one teacher conistently has the lowest pass rate.
Very simple and very plain that teacher has the wrong job.
Sack them.For the childrens sake.

Yes ... I can remember when I was in (about) Standard Four (early fifties),
our teacher (Kendrick Smytheman, who went on to become one of NZ's leading
poets) used to smoke his pipe in class.

that sort of a problem - schools deal with them; in most cases the
teacher just quietly decides that they wish to pursue another career,
in others they are sacked, but quite rightly that seldom hits

If he believed there maybe other Universes or even Universes within
Universes he may have realised that that was why the word God is used

I don't think a veil is nessasary indoors and a wide brimmed hat is ok
for out doors.
I do not think a light transparent scarf or veil is a bad idea for
those concerned with insect repellent side effects.
Melonoma from a mole started by a bad insect bite infection is a
hazard best avioded.

That's right people with Asthma, diabetes etc etc etc need not apply
if is so serious they need medication.
Children to improve majestically to rocket scientist level need
appropriate role models. Even if we have to have larger classes
because the right teacher can have the more intelligent students
helping the slower less well fed.

Those that are having most difficulty with school work need exra
assistance. National have just removed much of that additional
asssitance CK, and are blaming ordinary teachers for any problems
arising from that.

We do very very well with the top end, but are not very far behind
with those wo have most problems. Some of that may be due to closing
special schools (I think Labour went too far, but National won't fix
that either). Removing help for teachers for 'difficult' children
(often learning dand beahviour difficulties go together) as National
has done will only make matters worse.

Part of learning very very well needs to be learning to help others not so
fortunate.
Alternatively they can attend a private school.
The Bible teaches to treat your enemies as you would have them treat you and
to go the extra mile for them.
The Government is proposing teaches need to aim at bringing the education
level for all levels to an acceptable world standard. If a teacher cannot
comply he can join a private school but cannot expect to remain with a
public school if refusing to follow the criteria.

And National are stopping helping people that are not as fortunate as
themselves.

Most people on a low income cannot afford to pay private school fees

>The Bible teaches to treat your enemies as you would have them treat you and

and the National government are treating themselves to extra money
while taking it away from those less fortunate, and in education are
introducing testing that does no good, while removing help for people
having special difficulties, giving extra money instead to private
schools, and removing money for adult education which helps some
people that are unemployed better themselves to get a job again. They
are acting against your Bible, ChritianKnight.

>The Government is proposing teaches need to aim at bringing the education

That is what they say, but they are making it harder for teachers to
do that, and removing the help that was being given to teachers for
those that need extra assitance.

>If a teacher cannot

They may not be able to get a job in a private shool either, CK - the
government pays most private school salaries too, and they have
requirements regarding teachers.

The teachers are upset though that the government is requiring them to
do things that will not help children learn. Educatin experts that are
not teachers agree with the teachers that the government proposals are
flawed, but National will not listen.

Look when teachers were fired for a poor job, kids get educated.
When teachers are their own parents, kids get educated.
When teachers in private schools, kids get educated.
When teachers lived at the dawn of society, teachers
were tied to the wealth of the society.
Now teachers are under paid, an after thought, and its getting
worse for teachers.

And its brillant. Its called the internet and its another
way around the poor teaching problem. i.e. as soon as you
can, get your kids interested in open source software,
then start a open source school program that is distance
learning. Eventually the universities will have to 'claim'
it as their idea and do 'research' into it, for governments
to consume and finally endorse. But hey, your kids will
be educated and out of their over controlling clamp down
by that time.

Geez, maybe the next generation of politicians will be adults.
Here's hoping.

I'm not God Squadie, so just when was the word tattoo introduced into
scripture. I thought that this was a polynesian word that has only
been used for the last 200 years.

Tattoos from Acient to modern times have meant the wearer has an affinity
with pain and suffering they like to feel it and more often than not they
want thrill to dish out pain and suffering.
The Bible clearly explains Tattooing is Evil but if the Tattooist on the
battlefield is at war against the enimies of God then they may find gods
salvation.
Therefore the only safe place for a wearer of Tattoo's is a battlefield.
Therefore saving innocent public from their remionding perpetual hatred of
peace and serinity and at the same time thropugh the pain they love so much
protecting god fearing people.
They cannot obviously receive Jesus wearing their devotion to pain off the
battlefield to be a true Christian and follow Jesus they must have the
Tattoo painlessly removed.

Fuck me, what I want to know is when did the polynesian word "tattoo"
get incorporated into modern day scripture to replace the hebrew,
latin or Greek equivalents. The last thing I wanted to read was
excepts from a 1900 year old piece of fiction written by uncivilized
camel humping peasants from the middle east.

Very simple to really be on a Christian track Train your skin clean.
Rub away slowly scars you have made cutting yourself by using a speacial
scar removing stone. And wash the print marks off or get Laser removal.
Real simple what is required to jump on the Jesus bandwagon. Just don't what
ever you do claim your a Trainee Chriustian if you flaunt the laws of the
holy Bible. Because you can't a Christian if you openly display Voodoo
symbols role modeling the devil.

Truth twisting Demons like you Scooter are why books and the Bible were
written in the first place.
Because while the likes of you lie and twist words and sounds phrases and
stories to justify your own lusts, cravings, desires and ego people do
actually have a reference to healthy clean living standards.
Other than Scooters whimsical fantasy stalking world.

Its not all bad. I have friends form the high tech industry here in
silicon valley who are out of jobs (some for 2 years) who are feeling
down and worthless (my golf partners dog also has leukemia and will be
put down in a few days). I forwarded them links to CKs posts and it
seems to have give them hope in life, and its not from placing their
faith in the "biggest lie of all".

Your not allowed to stalk people. Your Abusing Usernet.
Stop it .
I have a right to a private life and all your interest is purely one sided.
If you looking for trouble youv'e come to the wrong place.
Let me reiterate.
Go back and tell yopur Lord Taniwha I'm not interested.
I follow Christ's path.

And I suggest you follow Jesus Christ.
There we are 2 different sides of the fence trying to teach taught beliefs.
You swearing , perversions , promoting disobeying Gods laws as if that earns
you points with lucifer.
And humble little old me still writing news reports hoping a nice lady
aligns with my thinking and chooses to share a loving caring marriage.
Definitely two different feathers from two different birds.
Now take your hooter elsewhere Scooter and have a good kind thinbk about
obeying the bible.

I love this about newsgroups: two certifiable deluded nut-jobs who
beleive in the same mythology calling each other a certifiable deluded
nut-job for not beleiving in the same mythology properly.

I'd pay good money for this, and it does not cost me a cent!
Marvellous!!
