Key is not capable of talking intelligently for half an hour. This
must be some hoax.

The interview is instructive in more ways than one. Good to have it
archived in toto on the HDD.

New Zealanders will be overjoyed to know the entire BBC World audience
has had an opportunity to discover and assess the calibre and
character of the slither-tongued man who now runs the show here.

As is his habit, the thoroughly researched Sackur expertly conducted
John Key through major New Zealand topics and issues, the responses to
most of which Sackur received with a wholesome skepticism matching to
perfection the style and substance of what came back at him.

As an example of the general tone Key brought to the broadcast, and
for a revealing study of an inept New Zealand prime minister regaling
his worldwide audience by gratuitously disavowing one of his own
country's top scientists, try this excerpt:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programmes/hardtalk/9480610.stm

(Note John Key's embarrassed smirk the moment Sackur introduces the
"100% Pure" topic)

Unsurprisingly, while the cattle-class NZ media went ape over John
Key's lame sidekick spot on the insubstantial Letterman a while back,
this time they have been mute when it came to the potential gravitas
of his one big chance: a long-form 25-minute encounter with the
redoubtable Sackur on a universally accessible worldwide network.

I saw the section of him defending the "100% pure" bit. Given this is
very much a Labour gambit over the last 25 years he was forced to defend
it, and did it OK whilst introducing the concept of "comparatively"..
something IIRC Helen wasn't prepared to concede. In this he followed
some tourism research that overseas visitors aren't that interested in
100% pure so much as it aligns with what they see and perceive of NZ.

Quite possibly. It suggests that which is patently untrue, yet NZ
Tourism along with **John Key** as its top smell, no less, continues
to exploit the falsehood for all it is worth.

It's called 'misrepresentation', the acknowledged vice of politicians
of any stripe yuou care to name. Hence John Key is a perfect fit.

Pretty hopeless alright. Gotta agree there.

The problem is though, that Goff, Norman, Sharples, Dunne,
Harawira would be 100 times worse.

Of course Brash would have been the only party leader presently
able to handle those questions. He has no issues facing up to
facts.

So perhaps you are a closet ACT supporter, Newsless?

Judging what's on offer, you bloody well should be.

You know damn well it was. And, as usual, you never said a thing
about it because you would never dare criticize Helen Clark the
Comminist.

Hence HELEN CLARK who instigated it is the #1 *"misrepresenter"*,
and you supported everything she ever did and said.

What a two-faced hypocrite *you* are.

The key word being 'suggests'. Goodness me - an advertising campaign
that could be interpreted in a way such that it is not true - whatever
next.

Grow up.

Yet it was not Key's campaign. It is an advertising campaign, and your
wittering on about it is absolutely pathetic.

OK, then, **says**, which is actually the case,

Tell it to Stephen Sackur who skewered Key with his "But a100% is
100%", this in response to Key trying still to convince his BBC
audience of the falsehood as he twisted on the gibbet of his own
devising. I assure you, it was an exquisite moment.

So it is OK with you that a prime minister of New Zealand who not only
condones the exploitation of a falsehood and then continues to do so
when shown up for his a worldwide TV channel is good for New Zealand.

And you have the vote? Jeeeeesus H Christ!

In saying 'suggests' I have perhaps been generous since the slogan
actually states "100% Pure" as fact. Sackur took this up with New
Zealand's Minister of Tourism, detailing scenarios and numbers for Key
to speak to. But Key sidestepped and responded by dissing the work of
one of his own country's top scientists. Sackur left it at that,
leaving John Key looking awkward while allowing the audience to arrive
at its own conclusions.

Typical marxists, like you. Skewer the wrong person.

CLARK initiated it FFS!

And YOU are always attacking Key and tearing him down. You never
did this to CLARK... ever!

You NEVER offer any alternative.

YOU are just a hater and wrecker... nothing else. A 100%
dishonest one at that.

No, it was the devising of some marketing suit.

I've seen it, and you are talking it up some way beyond what you dream
it was. Back in the real world, this appearance by Key has not
attracted a murmur, other than among those who are compulsively
obsessed.
