Which political party in NZ will suggest abandoning an emissions
trading scheme? Please don't make me join ACT.

You might just have to. But I have seen Locke and Hide on the same
podium! Both singing much the same song too.

Interesting to see what the mainstream media makes of it. So far the
BBC has reported on it but only to say that the emails were leaked,
nothing about the content.

HadleyCRU says leaked data is real

The director of Britain's leading Climate Research Unit, Phil Jones,
has told Investigate magazine's TGIF Edition tonight that his
organization has been hacked, and the data flying all over the
internet appears to be genuine.

In an exclusive interview, Jones told TGIF, "It was a hacker. We were
aware of this about three or four days ago that someone had hacked
into our system and taken and copied loads of data files and emails."

"Have you alerted police"

"Not yet. We were not aware of what had been taken."

Jones says he was first tipped off to the security breach by
colleagues at the website RealClimate.

"Real Climate were given information, but took it down off their site
and told me they would send it across to me. They didn't do that. I
only found out it had been released five minutes ago."

TGIF asked Jones about the controversial email discussing "hiding the
decline", and Jones explained what he was trying to say….

This could easily become 'mainstream media loses all credibility' if
they don't start reporting on the real story and not just 'servers got
hacked'.

Oops I speak to soon. Fox has done a story on it (http://
www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,576009,00.html?test=latestnews) and also
The Telegraph.

According to Fox the AGWers are accusing the skeptics of taking the
emails out of context.

Hard to see how 'the data isn't showing what we think it should so we
have to massage it a little' can be taken out of context.

The MM are still not sure if the emails are real or not. I believe all
of them are real. Someone has run a program on them to check the dates
and times and everything matches. In addition people who have sent
emails to the CRU have confirmed that their emails are there and
correct.

There's a lot to read - 62 MB of emails and data.
And when that is finished I hear there is a total of 200 MB ready to
release. Anybody who says that the emails prove nothing is a liar
because they have not read them.
So far, I see a bunch of scientists agreeing how to fudge the data,
ignoring inconvenient data, refusing to divulge raw data, and
attacking scientists who disagree with them.

No, of course, not. Climate Change is a fact of life,
one exasperated by the activities of humankind.

Are we going to ban driving because someone has an accident?

Or just ban those responsible for the accident from driving?

So ban the climate scientists that collude to fabricate
a more depressing picture, the underlying science is still worthy.

This is a classic Rove trick, well a classic underhanded political
trick, by attacking weak self-serving human beings in organizations
as representative of the whole organization. You will always
find weak links.

Well there is an exception, the leader of the party, the leader
of the government, if they are weak shallow excuses for activity
then it does reflect on that parties ability to find credible leaders.

Absolutely nothing on TV3. In fact they they lead with a pro-AGW
story.

Sure, there are a lot of data to sort thru, but it's scandalous that
they haven't at least mentioned it.

SST reported it in the international pages last sunday. The Press had a

And finally got a mention on TV1 news this morning.
I wonder just what news coverage we would have had there been definite
undeniable evidence of global warming...

It's a pity the same sentiment didn't extend to the TV1 evening news.
Same old bullshit about Antarctic ice melting, faster than expected
sea level rise, blah blah blah....

TV3 had a thing on fonterra and greenpeace. But at least some of the
mainstream media has started reporting on it.
