Increasing the amount of money in the government coffers should never
be an objective of governemnt economic policy. If the tax revenue is
reducing, then government spending should also reduce.

If the government wants more investment in the productive sector, they
should tax productive investment less and thus make such investment
more attractive. Further taxation on investments that the government
does not approve of will not help the productive sector one iota.

Who cares how much money the aussie banks earn? One can vent one's
disapproval of a financial institution by simply not dealing with
them, and if enough people feel the same way, they will either change
their ways or pack up their tents and leave; something I expect you
would welcome.

National are gutless. They won't sack the waste-of-time overpaid
government bureuacrats. In one sense I can't blame them. Most of the
useless, unproductive and obstructive bureaucrats (and there are a lot
of them) would never vote themselves out of their cushy overpaid jobs.
National should throw them under the bus anyway. Most of those
employed in the public sector wouldn't vote National under any
circumstances. Like I said, National are gutless.
Bill.
