I for one think that Rodney is right, National have done fuck all, and
they know it, they're just sore because Rodders opened his trap up.
You should be very thankful.
Because?
Well, he hasn't removed your benefit... yet.
If the system was actually providing a benefit to only those that needed one
then we would not have what we have now ..... unless 3rd generation
beneficiaries are something you would believe was okay.

Of course he is right. He is probably also right about his comment
that he could get any policy through cabinet because "they are too
busy with their own stuff [so] they're not bothered." The National
Cabinet is full of incompetents - Nick Smith who clearly doesn;t
understand ACC, but who also makes stupid lies about it. Another
Minister needs to see proposals in comic form - she cannot read even a
single page report without becoming confused. The Education changes
indicate both a Minister who doesn't even understand the basics of
education and edcuation objectives. John Key has no authority or
control within the party, and appears willing to excuse anything
provided it is not actually illegal. Theya re so scared of discussion
that they go for urgency on anything vaguely controversial so taht
they do not have to answer opposing views. They are an embarrassment -
but what Hyde does not realise is that in every respect he is himself
just as embarrassing.
The money that could have been used to provide a little extra money
for a large number of people was all grabbed by National fo the most
wealthy. John Key derided a reduction in tax while he was in
opposition as not being worth a block of cheese - he made sure that
when National got into power they abused it by grabbing all teh cheese
for themselves and their wealthy supporters.
Wrong Rich! Labour wasted it on a clapped out railway that will forever be
drain on taxpayer dollars and gave people a secret taxcut (WFF) that is also
a drain on the taxpayers dollars. You'll never understand why it's moraly
and ethicaly wrong to bleed those on high incomes to support social
engineering that does nothing to actually help people.
Pooh
I heard John Key on the wireless this morning, the first two things he
had to say was "We've been doing things" "We're a busy government"
He knows only too well Rodney is right.
You are confusing a small investment in NZ Rail (which stopped a $20
million a year subsidy to overseas shareholders), with billionso f
dollars of debt paid off, billions of dollars now saved to secure NZ
Superannuation (which both National and Labour have committed to
keeping at its current level), and billions more put into future
commitments for ACC - moving the government funded portion it for the
first time to being partly funded instead of pay-as -you-go which was
the basis it was always on previously.
Contrast that paying off of the debt that NAtional had left - probably
included debts from National's failed "Think Big" proramme, with the
spendthrift current government. Knowing we were entering a severe
recession they voted themselves over $100 a week in extra income, gave
nothing to majority of New Zealanders (when they had promised a tax
cut to all), and are now borrowing hugely - with one of the
significant reasons being that the tax cuts have reduced the
government tax take. National have acted irresponsibly with their
snouts in the trough policies and unethical actions - and have led ACT
and the Maori Party to believe that any money grab is OK as they are
'entitled'. This is the ugly face of "Me First" Capitalism, John Key
style.
