Can you not reinstall them?
I'll try again tomorrow but that does not seem to work either unless I
am using the wrong CD Thanks on answering.

I found a CD with Audio drivers and installed evrythingt I could to no
avail. Hooked up my Laptop to the speakers for the meantime.
Thanks on the consideration.

If you're not sure, check the hardware id. Right click in the device
manager, properties, details tab, check hardware ids, device instance
id and maybe compatible ids. If these are not mentioned in the .inf
files for the drivers you're installing, you haven't got the right
drivers. Google might find them, and put you on to a driver site.
If that sounds like I know much about what I'm talking about, I'm
being deceptive. But, it worked for me once.
HTH, and regards, John
Try this:
It's free.. and works :)
I tried this annd it still does not work.
I have Legacy drivers which I updated and the Dicemanger says they are
working.
I have a half duplex chipset built into the mother board.
The system is not mixing the drivers into the sound scheme.
They are all working properly but are not able to play sound I do not
understand.

Nothing has worked not even buying a soundcard for a pci slot and
loading its drivers automatically from the Cd
So if anyone has any ideas I'd be most grateful.

The Internet is interesting in that although the nicknames may change,
the same old personalities show through.
Yes I have another computer runniong an oputdaqted windows 7 thaT i
have not operated since April and the speakers run fine.
Speakers are fine
This is to do with the drivers or the Bios or rust or dust on the
motherboard. I think it's a virus I'm not the only one it's happened
to.
Realtek Ac 97 driver controller enabled but not started.
I've rechecked it so many times Ive learn't the name.
Please pool some ideas.

Just ruling out a possibility. The sound devices might be considered too
old and win7
drivers just not available. I have been using a three year old dynalink
adsl modem
with xp which would'nt work with win 7. Dynalink says it is actually more
than ten
years old and will not be writing win7 drivers for it.
> I don't know if someone or some virus has deleted my sound software.
Always worth trying a Linux live CD just to isolate whether it’s a Dimdows
problem or not.
The computer with the failed sound is running XP home edition the
problem simply appeared and Mac Fee anti virus has not picked up any
virus involvement.

Yes. I agree . Shall search a solution and take to the shop if fail.
Thanks .

Good thought.
If it fails with a Linux live CD is it still a virus?
I do not know my Bio's password could it be something in there?
Christ's love
> If it fails with a Linux live CD is it still a virus?
Not likely. It would more likely point to a hardware problem.
I don't suppose he's tried the easy things like seeing if there is a tick
in the "Mute All" box in the Master Volume control panel?
Yes very early on.
It's all fixed now and not a cent spent.
Formatted the hard drive and reloaded XP home adition.
The problem was corrected and with the new sound card I now have full
duplex instead of half.
Woops there was money spent. $40.00 on the new sound card I always
wanted anyway.
I've uninstalled the old messenger and explorer and outlook and am
just using Google Chrome at the moment.
The few programs I paid for like Akoff composer and Anvil Studio with
printer accessory I have the license Key and have opened and they
work.
Thanks for your help most appreciated sometimes just seeing someone
cares is enough to motivate imaginings.

So many experimental music programs some probably clashed.
It's all cleared up now with a good old fashioned format.
I saved my poems onto an old style external hard drive which family
pictures should be already on.
A good format is far better than a defragment or disk clean up.
Processors are tough and the computer runs swift on a super clean
registry.

Except for how many hours spent reinstalling everything?
How much is your time worth?
> It's all cleared up now with a good old fashioned format.
I’ve never had to reformat/reinstall a Linux system just to fix a
configuration stuffup.
It's my holiday and something else went wrong. The screen went black
though I had sound.Today I formatted again, this time spent the day
installing only windows updates untill I was right up to date. Then at
the end I defragmented. Plugged my Lap top into the TV and watched
Puffinstuffon You Tube My favorite childhood program.

Sometimes I frenzy on New Programs. Like with free Programs write
sheet music.
and Text to speech. I like Anvil Studio. And quite like Hal assitent
with Text to Speech.
