JOB: Front-End Developer at RAB Lighting, Inc.
RAB's Interactive Electronics team is looking for a full-time front-end hacker who's passionate about building world-class user interfaces for the web and mobile devices—and beyond—to join us at our downtown Manhattan digs. You should have experience with contemporary front-end Javascript frameworks (jQuery, Backbone et al) and a basic understanding of the backend systems that underlie them. RAB Lighting is a leading manufacturer of sustainable outdoor LED lighting fixtures, and my team exists to take this industry into the next century. You will have the opportunity to help us execute innovative and transformative ideas of how people interact with lighting.
Key Requirements
• 2+ years software development experience with an emphasis on user interfaces
• A thorough understanding of event-driven programming models
• Experience with cross-browser compatibility including mobile browsers
• Experience creating beautiful interfaces in conjunction with a graphic designer
• Experience with quality control and pixel-perfect execution
• A lifelong love of learning and creativity
Love to Have
• Native iOS development experience
• Experience with version control systems (Git or Mercurial preferred)
• Experience with Python, Ruby or Java
• CMS system experience (Concrete, Drupal)

Software Developer Position
RAB Lighting, Inc., located in northern NJ and Manhattan, is a leading manufacturer of Sustainable Outdoor Lighting Fixtures. We are looking for a full-time LAMP software engineer to join our growing team. If you are interested in joining a growing, dynamic company and are talented, hard-working and organized, then you are who we are looking for.
The position requires strong development skills, along with an ability to specify, design and deliver projects from start to finish. You will work across business units, and develop solutions to improve efficiency of daily operations. In addition to supporting current operations, there are opportunities to innovate and drive business by developing new systems.
You will be working with a mixture of technologies (Apache, IIS, PHP, Java, HTML, jQuery) and on applications which are either third party or home grown solutions. Ability to work with deadlines, multitask, provide feedback on feature-sets and pick the right technology for the problem are critical skills.
Key Requirements
2+ years development experience with LAMP (Linux, Apache, MyQSL, PHP)
Functional and Object Oriented programming experience
Experience with Version Control Systems (git or Mercurial, preferred)
2+ years experience with AJAX, Javascript, jQuery
Basic Systems Administration skills (set up Development environment, update software packages)
Love to have
CMS system experience (Concrete, Drupal)
iOS development (iPad or iPhone)
Experience with other languages (Python, Perl, Java, JSP, Groovy)
