* 454 MHz ARM processor * 64 MB DDR SDRAM * 2 GB internal microSD card (some only have 1 GB) * 3.5" LCD color touchscreen * 2W mono speaker * Wi-fi connectivity (802.11 b/g) * FM radio tuner
* Uses rechargeable lithium ion battery (not included); about one hour on a full charge [NOTE: Insignia - Infocast 3.5" version would have to have this external]
* 4" wide x 4" tall x 3.5" deep * 1 USB 2.0 high-speed port * Stereo headphone output * Volume knob * Accelerometer (motion sensor) * ABS plastic housing * AC adapter included * USB ethernet compatible * Dimmable backlight - \/\/\/
This is full open-source, with listings and schematics available. + The FORUMS are full of mods, hacks, and patches for this.
Although it is _not_ a beginner's project, the installed non-standard Linux can be replaced with Android or other ports.
At this price, the sale probably can not last too long, until the product is discontinued _and/or_ sold out...

Standard disclaimer: I have no financial interest or relationship with Best Buy, Chumby, nor Insignia.
This doesnt seem like much of a sale, and are you sure this can run the same code and applications as a Chummby? Seems there is no delivery options available at all, in store pickup only. The measly $20 off will cost you just that iin gas an travel chargers to get to a Best Buy that has one in stock.
Best of luck to those whom tried.Lord knows I did, frantically! ~Foxx

Also, Chumby has a Valentine's Day sale going on the Chumby One right now which has the backup battery connector, making it more useful for portable hacks. I'm not sure how long the code is valid, but you can enter VDAY11 to get a C1 for $69.99 from the store.chumby.com site. Normally, it's $129.
Also, they've hinted strongly that the Chumby 8 will be out soon, which will be their own version of the 8" screen device that Best Buy released for the holiday season. No details on pricing.

the corporate branding world ran out of new words to tap about 2.5 years ago due to the shortened product lifecycles and exponentially increasing generation of new product lines since the mid 90's; we're just starting to feel the real effects.
by my calculations, about July we should start seeing the rollout of the HP Pacer notebook and "Intellivision. by Kenneth Cole."
