Hi Everyone

In case you don't remember me - I am the guy who showed up at the interactive party a year ago with origami birds: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKon3YdlMQU

I recently launched a Kickstarter campaign in order to collect funding for a study on interaction with technology. I am trying to break with the whole "I tried this on 7 guys from the psych. faculty and they where able to complete the task with a median of 7.3 seconds" mentality which I often find in HCI studies. Rather I want to focus on telling a story of how the interactions with the technology subjectively feels and what it means to the participants.

I will be creating a telepresence situation and will be focusing on topics such as embodiment and social presence, by studying mediated touch.

I have (almost) reached my funding goal, which means that I will be doing this, come what may (more or less...). However, if I manage to collect additional funding, it will make my life a lot easier. So please, if this interests you, check out this link:

If you think its cool, and if you can, please back me. If you know of people who might think this is cool, please forward this message to them. If you have any thoughts on what I am doing, please share them.

I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions both on the actual project and also on what you think about trying to pitch a project like this to the general public, rather than doing it behind the closed doors of some lab.

Anyway - hope to get some feedback, and if anyone could back me, that would be amazing.

Cheers

Paul
