Hi everyone. I've created a new meetup group for people interested in
homebrew UAVs. It's still new and I haven't worked out venues and the
like, at which point I'll work out a plan for our first meetup.

Thanks, I joined, but there doesn't seem to be much activity.

This is great. I'm building a beaglebone based drone right now, but I
imagine there is a lot of overlap in info and techniques. I hope this
gets up and running soon.

Cool, that's a lot more horsepower than the arduino-based UAVs. What IMU are you using?

Hey all,

This is slightly tangential, so apologies if it's too much, but I've actually been looking to talk to some RC pilot hackers about whether or not it's useful to them (you) to use a simple neural network to do things like autostabilization.  To cut to the chase, I have an Arduino neural net library (still in a somewhat early stage), and I'm  very curious if it'd be useful to people.

Again, sorry if this is too off topic.  :)

Not sure where you're located, but I've been flying on Staten Island on South Beach near the Bridge.
