Hey guys,
A while back, I got some 1/4" black Delrin/acetal offcuts to laser cut
some parts out of from somebody at Resistor, and it was perfectly
smooth and shiny. I need more, and bought some acetal sheets via
Amazon, and while the other thicknesses I bought were perfectly
smooth, or usefully close enough, the 1/4" has a totally scuffed face
on both sides.

Does anybody know of an easy way to polish it (I'm mostly reading that
Delrin is incredibly hard to polish), or have a source for reasonably
priced and well-cared for 12" x 12" sheets in small quantities?

(Or does anybody just have a couple 12x12 or 12x24 sheets they'd sell me?)

Thanks in advance,
Andy

Andy,  you can sand Delrin-- with conventional sandpaper, or a sanding tool.

I'll warn you that a sander will most definitely be the way to go, and you''ll need some fine grits as well as couple of polisher attachments to get things nice looking.  One of delrin's great qualities is that its great for making precision parts.  What comes with precision, seems to be a precise ability to hold lines and scuff marks too.
