Welcome to Washington Heights Hockey!  

We play open / pick-up / free ROLLER hockey ALL YEAR LONG, every Saturday 10 am - 12 pm, in J. Hood Wright Park, right above the 175th Street A train station (Check MTA Advisory).  We've been doing this for over 6 years!!  We're happy to see players of all levels--we have a great mix of Columbia students and local residents who love to play hockey. 

J Hood Wright Park (Google map) has a painted smooth asphalt baseball field. We have PVC nets so you can shoot top-shelf where "Momma hides the cookies!". Or we tip over trash cans. Always use pucks, never balls. 

Bring skates and a stick (we may have extra). We recommend shinguards, cup, gloves, and both a white and dark jersey. Helmet/eye protection, pants, elbow pads extra, not required, up to you.

Join this Google Group!  We're always welcoming new faces. We do not actually use the Google Group discussions to announce games every week--instead we'll get you on our simple email list of 30+ active members.  You'll get an email on Wednesday to see if we have enough for a game, then a confirmation email by Friday afternoon.  If there's any chance of rain, we email around 9 AM Saturday to let you know the situation.
