Hey NYC Co-op folks,
I'm looking for a new home! I'm a 30-year-old economic justice activist and writer celebrating 10 years of making NYC home this May. Current interests include vegetarian cooking (going on 16 years), books, long long long walks through the city, the ocean, preparing for the Coney Island Mermaid Parade, hoopdance, and building NYC's solidarity economy. I have recently started writing country songs and hope to start a worker co-op this year. I work a day job, pay bills on time, listen to others, respect space, and generally do my best to live from a place of cooperation and love. I dig democracy in my workplace and my home.
Currently I'm in a flexible situation and can move anytime between March 1-May 1. I'd like to stay in sweet Brooklyn and find something relatively permanent (i.e. where I can see myself for two years or more.) I can be flexible about that last one, but I got washed out of Red Hook by Sandy and I'm ready for some stability! I make a living wage and can afford a rent which corresponds. I'm open to all types of folks and really just require that roommates be queer friendly...everything else we can work out. Happy to send along whatever you else you might need to know. :)
Thanks for any leads you can pass along!
