A new virtual tour has been added to www.oldnyc.com: The Route of the
Planned Cross-Brooklyn Expressway! This tour attempts to trace the route of
the planned Cross-Brooklyn Expressway, utilizing planning facts gleaned from
Steve Anderson's nycroads.com web site. Aspects such as route planning,
route design, and engineering thoughts of the proposed expressway are
examined. Since the Cross-Brooklyn Expressway was to follow much of the
route of the Long Island Railroad Bay Ridge Branch ROW, there are over 110
new pictures of the Right-of-Way included in this tour.

Excellent website! I paged through all the photos. I have not been to
the interior of Brooklyn, just along the periphery, and it is amazing
how much open space there is along this entire corridor.
