Although I hate very loud bikes I am against this MC noise reduction bill
because it gives NYC the ability to heavily fine ($600+) or confiscate
parked bikes based upon a "meter maid" finding the finely etched EPA stamp
and/or knowing a bike is pre-1982, rather than ticketing those actually
blasting ear drums.

Here is the petition (I did not create it, just spreading the word) regarding
the bill. Please note that it gives you choice of being for or against the bill
so be sure to select "no"

Here is the proposed legislation

If you've left a good comment with your "signature" why not also post it here.

Thanks.

It's not law yet...

Noisy cycle law put in reverse
BY FRANK LOMBARDI
DAILY NEWS CITY HALL BUREAU
Wednesday, January 7th 2009, 6:25 PM

A proposed city law that could let cops confiscate noisy motorcycles has been
sent back to the legal shop for retooling...... The bikers picked up a potent
ally in Councilman Leroy Comrie (D-Queens), the deputy majority leader, who
pushed for changes in the legislation.
He said that most motorcyclists are law-abiding and shouldn't be penalized for
the too-noisy few. ....
