Description:   Our client, one of the largest financial services firms is seeking a Data Analyst. 	 		  	 		Location:  New York, NY  	 		Project Type: Contract 	 		  	 		Position Description 	 		The Global Banking Technology (GBT) Banking Services team is a development team that collaborates with stakeholders in Operations, IT and the Business to analyze, define and deliver the Technology and Operational processes necessary to support Retail Banking debit card, checks, credit cards, and fee processing. The current project portfolio includes projects aligned with the implementation of the Client joint venture, rollout of new banking service features, and re-engineering of legacy systems. The candidate can expect to work on a number of projects - varying in scale - and to work across the different phases of the project lifecycle. Technologies range from legacy mainframe to distributed (java, .NET.) 	 		  	 		The position is for a Business Analyst for Technical projects in the GBT Banking Services team with opportunities to grow into a Project Lead and Program Manager role. The position requires the candidate to have a fundamental understanding of project management methodologies, process analysis and technology, with strong communication skills. 	 		  	 		Skills Required 	 		- Strong written and verbal communications 	 		- Experience in all phases of software development lifecycle, with strengths in requirements gathering and technical writing 	 		- Defining solutions (process-based, reporting-based, technology-based) to business issues  	 		- Structured and organized approach to project management  	 		- Interpersonal skills to influence and gain consensus from technology and operations experts 	 		- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills and a creative, flexible approach to problem solving  	 		- Attention to detail 	 		- Experience in Financial Industry 	 		  	 		Skills Desired 	 		- Bachelors Degree 	 		- Experience in Banking Services (lending, cards, and checks) 	 		  	 		Skill Proficiency 	 		- Technical background in distributed environments (Java, C++, .NET)
