Description: Job Title: Lead Analyst Job Category: Accounting / Finance Location: Brooklyn, New York Job Description: The Lead Analyst of Financial Reporting & Research is a critical member of the External Reporting team that is responsible for supporting the production of quarterly and annual external financial statements for National GridUSAand subsidiary companies and for conducting accounting research on behalf of National Grid in theUS. This position reports directly to the Director of External Reporting. Key responsibilities of the Lead Analyst of the External Reporting functions are: Oversee and manage the production of various quarterly and annual financial statements provided to creditors, banking partners, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission ( FERC ) and the various state regulatory commissions. Perform quality control reviews of various financial statements, including all aspects of the underlying mapping files and footnote support. Coordinate with external groups (Tax, Treasury, Legal, Regulatory, Derivatives, Pension, Decision Support, Plant Accounting, etc.) for the timely flow of information required for preparation of and disclosure in said financial statements. Liaise with external auditors in connection with annual financial statements that are subject to audit. Assess the impact of accounting errors, both unrecorded and recorded out-of-period, in both qualitative and quantitative terms as to the periods involved and the potential need for restatement (SAB 99). Maintain a high degree of knowledge of all current GAAP and SEC regulations and requirements and ensure that new accounting pronouncements are implemented effectively. Oversee and manage various aspects of the 144A debt filing for one of the Company s subsidiaries, including management s discussion and analysis (MD&A) Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of company processes and procedures and provide recommendations for business improvements. Perform and/or manage various ad-hoc projects and procedures as necessary. Education: Must be a CPA with Bachelors degree in Accounting Minimum of 6 years of accounting/reporting experience Prior Big 4 experience preferred.
