This person will interact with plant teams, Packaging equipment, packaging vendors and R&D. This individual will participate in requisition and management of capital authorization requests and is accountable for project spending and provide technical and management expertise on engineering projects as assigned by the Plant Engineer. • They will directly plan, organize, direct and control the efforts of other technical people toward the successful completion of projects. • Has the responsibility for communication and dissemination of information to all those associated with the projects. • Must control project expenditures, develop and administer schedules and resolve conflicts that may hinder the successful completion. • Will partner with company to learn and understand their role in development of specifications and global standards. • Develop equipment Packaging specifications, assess Packaging equipment proposals from suppliers and make recommendations for enhancements and investments to ensure future facility growth. • Design work and obtain costs for projects assigned by the Technical Director, including determining optimal equipment and layouts for improving or expanding the plant operations and making major repairs to systems and buildings. • Identify and implement projects with the approval of the Technical Director, including but not limited to improving plant operations, production efficiencies, maintenance, power plant operations and utility consumption. • Act as a consultant to the maintenance department and maintenance supervisors on the development and implementation of P.M. programs, lubrication programs, safety programs effective maintenance practices and solving technical problems • Coordinate and direct the activities of the necessary resources within the plant, outside the maintenance and engineering department for the completion of projects through the necessary plant management and supervisory personnel Qualifications - Bachelor of Science/ Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical) - Approximately 3+ years related work experience in Packaging engineering, plant level. - Functional Competencies needed(specific to job): • Packaging equipment expertise strong financial and analytical skills • Basic skills in AutoCAD, MS Project, and other business software • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, to establish and react to changing priorities • 6 Sigma knowledge
