Description: Our client, a leading global financial services company, has approximately 200 million customer accounts and does business in more than 140 countries. They provide consumers, corporations, governments and institutions with financial products and services, including consumer banking and credit, corporate and investment banking, securities brokerage, transaction services, and wealth management.
STRATEGIC INTENT
A contract role exists within the Investment Bankgroup Investment Research Team for an analystprogrammer to develop and maintain application software for the Research business.
The role includes requirements analysis, systems development and integration for the
high profile global applications used within the business.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Requirements analysis, design and development of Research applications.
- Liaise with the business for requirements gathering and analysis.
- Work with global development teams from other regions in the design and
implementation of global platforms.
- Provide 3rd level application support to global support teams
- Follow existing processes and disciplines including SDLC and documentation.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- 3-6 years development experience in financial services preferred.
- Must have proven experience developing systems that have been deployed and are
in active production use. The candidate should preferably have addressed issues of
fault-tolerance, load balancing, performance, scalability and user interface design.
Technical requirements:
- Experience implementing applications in Core-Java, SOAP, XML and XSLT for at
least 5 years.
- Fundamental understanding of Object Orientation and design patterns, as well as
OO design using UML diagrams.
- Good understanding of relational databases and experience with Sybase or Oracle.
- Must have good understanding of java multithreading and concurrency.
- Should be accustomed with Java - JUNIT framework
- Knowledge of source code control systems, integrated development environments,
unit test framework and software modelling tools.
- Experience with analysis and design of complex software systems.
- Knowledge of GUI design, Eclipse/NetBeans, Weblogic, Tomcat, NetBeans, Ant,
UNIX and
