Corporate Account Executive – NYC

Our client develops technologies that enable publishers to manage and
market their digital content and engage their readers through digital
formats. This position is based in New York, New York. Candidates must
live in NYC or within a 20-minute train ride. It will include team and
cross-departmental interaction but will be heavily skewed toward
individual contribution.

The Corporate Account Executive is responsible for initiating and
securing relationships with top Book Publishers throughout North
America. The ideal candidate will leverage existing relationships to
present our client’s solution to aforementioned top tier entities.
This role will require “hunter-type” skills in securing new business
and the ability to manage/grow these accounts on a go-forward basis.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with strong interpersonal
skills and ability to implement strategies. Serve as Single Point of
Contact for defined set of multi-site, national and international
publishers. Measured on revenue contribution for named accounts.

If you apply, you MUST
• Have 3-5 years of experience working in book publishing.
• Have account management and sales experience.

Responsibilities:
• Securing increased revenue from existing accounts - $1M +annual
revenue.
• Developing/implementing ramp process to revenue.
• Demonstrated Revenue growth thru account planning and execution.
• Manage communication plans and activities within assigned accounts.
• Scheduling quarterly executive reviews and road map meetings.
• Development and implementation of annual business plan with defined
quarterly metrics and reviews to ensure targets and forecasts are met
• Generate and promote sales and marketing programs with account and
developing a close relationship with key decision makers.
• Provide support through the co-ordination of customer presentations,
workshops, demonstrations, and meetings with assigned accounts.
• Advise leadership on competitive position, delivery risks and
product positions affecting account strategies.


Requirements:
• 7 years of recent experience in sales, at least 3 years with Book
Publishers.
• Applicable industry knowledge – familiar with Publishing industry
and already has strong reputation within industry.
• Management/Leadership Skills – ability to motivate and deliver in
coordination with Account sales organizations.
• Ability to quickly embrace our client’s value proposition and
articulate confidently.
• Strong communication skills, excellent listening skills.
• Recent experience selling emerging technology and evangelizing
emerging markets.
• Must have proven negotiation and closing skills, working with C-
level contacts in securing new business within current relationships.
• Must have the ability to explain technical systems, coupled with the
ability to demo a technical product to marketing, production and
senior management.
• Ability to present and discuss TCO/ROI in the sales process
• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, with the
ability to present professionally to all levels within an organization
are a must
• Must be willing to travel, 65% travel expected with periodic
overnights within the region. Located in New York City.

The Ideal candidate would possess the following:
• 10 years in the publishing business
• Work in similar capacity with technology provider today/recently
• Experience working with large publishers
• Familiar/current with competitive landscape


Education:
• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
