Description: Our client is a leader in the Investment Banking industry. The Strategic Initiatives Group of the Management Controls Department (MCD), the firm’s internal audit group, is responsible for driving change, innovation, and process improvements in the core activities of MCD. The team works with MCD leadership on developing organizational strategies, and coordinating and executing their implementation. The successful candidate will work as part of a small, high-energy team, to lead cross-regional initiatives, including Knowledge Management, Relationship Management, Communication and Branding, and Innovation Exchange.
Primary Responsibilities
• Contribute to defining and implementing the departmental strategy, and execute on developing corresponding technology solutions and process changes
• Identify process and technology toolset enhancements necessary to help increase efficiency and effectiveness
• Leverage firmwide, departmental, industry, and open source technologies to achieve strategic objectives
• Create cost-benefit analyses to substantiate buy vs. build recommendations
• Develop technology solutions and provide input on departmental system implementations
• Lead multiple tactical projects as part of overall strategy implementation
• Assist with development, implementation, and progress monitoring of individual initiatives
Experience/Skills:
• 5-7 years of work experience, preferably in the financial services sector
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to identify and effectively resolve process and technical challenges
• Ability to efficiently analyze data and disseminate relevant information
• Intermediate web and/or application developments skills
• Energetic, optimistic, and confident when dealing with people from all areas of the firm and senior leadership
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Hands on development experience with any combination of the following is required: NET, VBA, Excel Macros, JSP, ASP, SQL Server, and/or Sybase
• Business Analysis, Process Redesign, and Information Mapping are a plus
• Self-motivated to drive the completion of initiatives and milestones through organizational and infrastructural challenges
• Dynamic interpersonal skills with the ability to adjust to audiences
• Team player with an ability to collaborate with a wide user group in different regions
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
Ability to successfully analyze issues
• Ability to deliver while working under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Strong analytical skills to identify and effectively resolve process, technical, functional, and resource-related challenges.
