Next Saturday, May 3rd 2008, is the day of the annual Pot Parade!

Thousands of people all around the world will gather to celebrate a
harmless, beneficial plant and to demand the freedom to legally possess and
use it.

http://www.myspace.com/the08march

In New York City the event will begin with a rally in Tompkins Square Park,
Ave. A and E. 7th street, at 11:30.
Several bands and speakers will be featured.
The massive march to the UN will begin around 1:00 - 1:30 from the park.
David Peel and the Lower East Side will play on a mobile stage enroute.
At the UN rally there will be additional bands and speakers.

Alcohol and tobacco, both legal substances, kill thousands yearly.
Pot kills no one and is medically useful, but you can be arrested for having
it!
Is this justice?
Come - make your voice heard on May 3rd - LEGALIZE IT!

Legalizing it for distribution, sales and taxing it properly with high
grade
strains much like wine is now sold - is the only logical way to save
our
economy here in the USA.

What is wrong with our economy?

Decriminalize it, and keep government incompetence
out of our drugs.

Haven't paid much attention to the price of gasoline
which increases the price of food, et al. As a friend of mine
says "if you bought it trucker brought it". Not to mention
loss of jobs in all sorts of industries and enormous trade
balance deficits with China among others. The decline in
the dollar has passed you by or maybe you bought gold when
it was less than half the present price?

A good idea but growers will hybridise it
with tobacco if you give them half a chance so we
need lots of paid inspectors keeping an eye on them.
Remember once it is decriminalized the corporate
profiteers will be attracted like bears to honey.

Have a nice parade. If you are black of course
in NYC remember the police shoot reflexively.

mock you, the more it shows I have respect for you.

Foreman: Or you made up that BS because you like humiliating me.

Why is he monitoring your *back*? Are you like a Stegosaurus, where you have
an extra brain in your ass?[1]

We don't need no education.

[1] This is not actually true. It's an old pseudoscientific myth, actually.
I just have to note that, if I'm going to be able to live with myself when I
obsessively read what I posted today over and over and over again tomorrow.

I may have the cure for what ails you:

http://www.maps.org/sys/w3pb.pl?mode=search&c_pkey=22868&displayformat=allinfo&type=citation

"Safety, tolerability and efficacy of psilocybin in 9 patients with
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder

Results: Nine subjects were administered a total of 29 psilocybin
doses. One subject experienced transient hypertension without relation
to anxiety or somatic symptoms, but no other significant adverse
effects were observed. Marked decrease in OCD symptoms of variable
degree were observed in all subjects during one or more of the testing
sessions (23%-100% decrease in YBOCS score). Repeated measures
analysis of variance for all YBOCS values revealed a significant main
effect of time on Wilks lambda (F = 9.86, d. = 3, 3; p. = 0.46) but no
significant effect of dose (F = 2.25, df = 3,3; p. = 0.261) or
interaction of time and dose (F = 0.923, df = 9, 45; p. = 0.515).
Improvement generally lasted past the 24-hour timepoint.
Conclusions: In a controlled clinical environment, psilocybin was
safely used in subjects with OCD and was associated with acute
reductions in core OCD symptoms in several subjects."

Thanks, but this assumes it 'ails' me. I don't suffer, I enjoy every minute
of it. (Well, not EVERY minute. But enough to make it better than I'm like
this than it would be if I weren't.)

Besides, I don't technically have OCD, at least not in the traditional
sense. My obsessive-compulsive symptoms have more to do with Asperger's
syndrome.
