Greetings from KF7GHQ - Rick.
I enjoyed the meeting Tuesday of the Digital Group.
There was some converstation about the IC7800 at the Museum.
Brian mentioned there was an ethernet port on the unit, I found the
manual online and learned that this port is for connecting a computer
for the sole purpose of uploading firmware upgrades.
It does seem however that there may infact be options for remote
controlling this unit which would be very interesting. I believe Ham
Radio Deluxe supports this unit. I have also been looking at a site
called Global Tuners which allows people to put their radios online
for access to subscribing members, however I am not sure if it
supports any type of private group or security.
Look forward to seeing you all next month.
Merry Christmas to all.

Hi Rick;

Have just started working on remote access via Windows. I did this a couple
of years ago but have not played around with it since then.

Try the following directions:
1. Open windows "Control Panel"
2. Double Click on "System"
3. Click on "Remote"
You have the option of allowing Remote Assistance invitation
OR - Remote Control to set limits for of use of Remote
Assistance
Check on Remote Desktop to allow users to connect remotely
to computer

4. Click on "What is Remote Desktop?" for an overview of Remote
Desktop
Also select REMOTE USERS
