November NWSFS Social - Saturday – 11/21/2009

Please join NWSFS for our November Social at the home of Janice Clark on Saturday, November 21st 2009, in Rochester, WA.

The social will begin around 5pm and continue until around 10pm.

The address is 12310 170th Ave SW, Rochester, WA 98579.

The phone is: 360-273-9212

As usual, this is a potluck, so bring your contribution of a main dish (occasionally have enough), side dish (rarely have enough), munchies (usually have enough), or desert (often have enough, if there is such a thing as enough desert). Bring your own beverages if you want something particular, although some basic beverages will be available. NWSFS members are encouraged to attend, and non-members in the SF/Fanish community are welcome, as always. We hope to see you there.

We are going to restart a long lost NWSFS tradition.  The “Holiday Number 11” gift exchange (See the 1977 Science Fiction TV Show “Quark” for more information on this forgotten holiday).

If you wish to take part in this NWSFS tradition then bring a gift to exchange.  The gift should not cost more than $11.  It should be wrapped in the Sunday Comics from your favorite newspaper (standard wrapping paper is allowed if you don’t get the paper).

Logistic Information:
• Plenty of Parking.
• No Cats or Dogs.
• No Smoking.
• Kids are welcome.

Driving Directions:
• I-5 south of Olympia to exit 88 (highway 12) west—toward Rochester and Oakville.
• Follow highway 12 about 8 miles, through Rochester, to Moon Road--you'll pass a large Christmas tree farm on the left, then a sod farm on the right--watch for the big Moon Garden Nursery sign, as well as the street sign.
• Right on Moon Road, about 1 mile--you'll pass the nursery, alpaca farm and blueberry farms, and cross the Black River.
• Take the first left past the bridge--that's 170th, and its marked Dead End.
• We're the second driveway on the right, set way back behind the trees, but you can see the dark blue-gray house
