Subject: white house bees

I will be taking my family to Washington DC for a family vacation in a few
weeks.  I have been trying to contact Charlie Brandt, the White House bee
keeper.  I was hoping that we would have an opportunity to meet with
Charlie while in DC and possibly tour the hive he has set up.  Does anyone
know Charlie Brandt or have a method for contacting Charlie?

Any help is much appreciated.

thanks,
Ken

Maybe you could call the number for the white house that is in the phone book and ask for him.

Kim Flottum ran an article for Bee Culture a year or so ago about the DC
hives.  Perhaps contact Kim at Bee Culture.

I heard just a month or so ago, that the White House Beekeeper (that wasn't his primary job) retired from Government Service, but will become a volunteer to maintain the beehives.  Perhaps his hours are much more limited now, than when he was employed by the Federal Govt.?

Thank you for the suggestions.
I have tried writing to the white house and calling the white house and
have not gotten any replies.

I'll definitely try some of these other suggestions.

Thank you,
Ken
