This morning on ABC News Good Morning America announced "BEES in CRISES,"

Findings of Pesticides are harming the honeybees damaging their nervous systems.

Isn't that what we the beekeepers have been saying all along.
What is it doing to us or the cattle in the beef industry? Other insects? Those that feed on insects.
When we consume the same vegtables and fruit every day for the rest of or lives?
A Wake up call and they should rectify the problem immediately
before all our children suffer from it too. Or have we been all along?

Sincerely, Tara...                                  goodmorningamerica.com

http://youtu.be/7NokJoJnPUY Hi Tara, several days ago, I was pulling
old debris from my organic garden and enjoying seeing all the earth
worms working away at the decaying material. Then it occurred to me,
I wondered how the worm population is in the adjacent corn field where
the systemic pesticides are used... the video link shows my findings.
Even the dead corn stalks of plants treated with systemic pesticides,
are not ingested by the worms... food for thought and thank you for
sharing!

Howdy Fred, Thanks for your statement I agree. Some friends of ours had grapes. Their neighbors had lawn care sprays applied to stop weeds or whatever was in the chemical. Who knows? Their vines never produced grapes again. I suppose if they do stop using the pesticides they will dispose of them through the lawn care weed control trucks for a price of course. /// I could not make it to your bee lecture I was without a car; felt bad cuz I wanted to chat about bees and chickens. I guess I will just have to pick up the phone and call you one day when your not busy. Jack and I always love a good wax chew. Hope you had a good turn out. Bye for now from Tara...

Hi Tara,

Yes, the introduction to the Bee and it's Hive was very well attended,
it was fully booked by reservation two weeks in advance.

It was the same case with the backyard poultry presentation on the
first Tuesday of the month.

It's a solid indicator that there is a HUGE interest in both subjects
and I noticed familiar faces from the chicken seminar also attending
the Bee talk...

Attendees were all provided with a list of resources, including
information regarding the NWPBA and the course at Asbury Woods. I
expect that course to be booked solid also.

Orchard and grape Vineyard owners were also there. The one hour talk
was extended to two and many remained afterwords for more discussion.

The Whole Foods Coop will be expanding their educational program and
facilities in coming years and I for one am very exited about that.

Sorry you couldn't make it!

Fred
