A couple requests as the fair season gets started.
We need to keep our honey exhibits filled. As you are taking off honey,
pack a few glass jars to exhibit at the fairs. Pack an extra couple to help
fill the baskets. We have one basket to raffle at the Crawford County Fair.
And we are working with other commodities in a type of Œfair detective¹
program. Each day a winner Œdetective¹ will be receive a basket sponsored
by a commodity. Early plans are that NWPBA basket will be presented by the
Pa Honey Queen. Our Pa Honey Queen, Jess Long, will be at the fair on
Monday, Aug 20. We were unable to schedule her for Sunday because she will
be in Philadelphia on Saturday.
We will also be looking for volunteers to talk with visitors at the
exhibit from Sunday, Aug 19 through Saturday Aug, 25th.
Besides judged exhibits, we will have the large atrium with an
observation hive attached. And we anticipate using as much of our Farm Show
county exhibit as we can fit in. NWPBA received a 1st place with this
exhibit at the 2012 Farm Show in January.
We have had good participation from members in the past few years.
Please contact myself, Charlie Vorisek, if you can offer some product or
help.

Charlie, I can tentatively volunteer for either the 23rd or 24th (or maybe a little on both days) depending on when I am working the Maple Syrup Assn. booth. I'll find out if they have a schedule yet? Troy

I'd be interested in volunteering again, we had a blast last year doing it. I will look at my schedule and let you know.

I have attached pdf files from the fair book, with all exhibit rules.
If an exhibitor is not sure what color class to enter, we can put it in the
proper class when it is entered.
Also attached the entry form. Any questions please contact me.
