I’m the Screen Writer and Producer for a short film with the working title “The Date” about a man and woman on a blind date. Most of the action and all of the dialogue will be improvised. The actors will receive a short character sketch to get themselves familiar with their characters along with a very basic script of how each scene will go. There will be a lot of room for experimentation and creativity in this part.

We’re looking for an actress in her early to mid-twenties for a two or three day shoot in mid to late July. Experience with improv is a plus, but not a requirement. We’re open to those with few or no credits who might be interested in getting a little more experience. We’ll be filming in the Greater Puget Sound region, around either Seattle or Kent, so we would prefer someone who lives close to this area. However, if you are willing to travel, we are open to someone outside of the area.

My director is a recent film school graduate, and I’m a grad student working on an MFA in Creative Writing, so this is a student film and beyond low budget. It’s really “no-budget.” However, we might be able to provide some meals on shoot days, and if interested, this film would most likely lead to other parts in our upcoming projects which might be paid. We’re also planning on submitting the film to several festivals, so this part could be great exposure.

If you are interested in this project, please email Jenée Stanfield at jenees...@gmail.com. Include your name, age, credits, and a head shot.
