How to find out if the Tysons D-STAR gateway and services are up...

Hi.

I have had a lot of questions along the line of "Is the gateway up?" and
"Why does my DVDongle not see NV4FM when I can use other gateways?"

You can find out yourself!

If you go to
https://dstar.nvfma.org/status.html
then you can see the status of DPlus. If you can not get this page the
server may be disconnected from the internet or DPlus might be down.

If you go to
https://dstar.nvfma.org/Dstar.do
then you can check the gateway web page. If you can not reach this page
the internet connection might be down. If you registered at Tysons you
can log in but only thing you can do is check your personal account

(note you have to accept the certificate.)

If you go to
http://dsyncg2.dstarusers.org/index.php?gw_status=NV4FM
You will find out which services are running and if the gateway is
reporting currently. It should report in every 15 minutes and none of
the services should be "off." If the last reported time is more than
20 minutes ago then the gateway is not reporting and the D-STAR package
needs to be restarted. If one of the services show as "off" then it
needs to be restarted. I can do this. I try to check once a day but
sometimes I get distracted. If you try to register and do not hear me
then drop me an email. Again I sometimes do not check the admin web page
every day.

so if you can not use the gateway via your radio or your DV Dongle does
not connect, please check these references FIRST. Then send me an email
if you can not get to the admin web page, if the DPlus status page seems
down or old, or the gateway did not report in the last 20 minutes.
