New Year 2019/20

Just to join in on all this trip organising business, some discussions were had at a NUFWAS:England walk last weekend regarding New Year 2019/20.

A Northumberland trip has been proposed, on the basis of:

a) General accessibility (& more family friendly)

b) Weather usually being a bit rubbish for major hikes anyway (better done on Easter/May trips)

c) Chance to revisit some old haunts

We've done some googling and have found these:

This one's a collection of self catering cottages (including a 10 bed main house) just outside of Rothbury. So we could have separate accommodation for those with little screamers and just book as many as we need.

How about this? Sleeps 16. Has cots. Available over new years. Costs £2895 for 7 nights. In a small village near Kielder, 45 mins drive from Newcastle.

Am struggling to find much else that is budget / family friendly and still available.

Following positive feedback and discussion in the resident's lounge at Jessic Mac's, this has now been booked! 7 nights from 27th Dec to 3rd Jan (Friday-Friday). The total price has also reduced to £2695.

So that's mostly filled. But there's likely to be extra space if some people aren't staying for the full week (and maybe a bit of floor space for the odd night).

The owner has told me that they have 3 travel cots available if needed.

We've paid £800 deposit, if anyone definitely coming could contribute towards this? £50 per head. Let me know if bank details are needed.
