Hey everybody,

I hope that you all were able to enjoy President's weekend, and the extra day off from classes and co-op!  Even though it's a holiday week, we still have some exciting opportunities coming up before spring break.  (Yes even though spring break is just around the corner... it's not here yet!)  Paul tells me that no one bothers to read the weekly email... let's show Paul that we do have a group of informed members... keep reading below :)

Staff Outreach/ Valentine's Outreach Part II - 2/18 11:45 - 1:25  1st floor CSC
Staff from Campus Crusade for Christ will be coming to Northeastern's campus next Wednesday for an outreach table using solarium/ handing out some Valentine's Day candy with an invitation for this Thursday's Agape meeting!  They'd love to have students come and help out, so please consider stopping by.  They'll be meeting at a table during activities period on the first floor of the Curry Student Center.  Not sure what solarium is, but want to find out... please email Mike Bost at mike...@uscm.org

Thursday - 2/19 Weekly meeting in 444 CSC
Agape will be meeting this Thursday at 7:30 as always in 444 Curry Student Center.  This week we'll be taking a break from the theme of discipleship and will be posing the question "What is love?"  Valentine's Day just happened last weekend... but we'll be exploring what true love is.  What does God's love look like?  What various forms does God's love come in?  Have a friend who needs some loving?  Please consider inviting them to this Thursday's meeting!  (We may even be having two special guest stars that you are not going to want to miss!)  After the meeting Devon will be meeting with anyone who is interested in becoming an MC for Agape.  If you'd rather be up front during the meeting, rather than sitting down please talk to Devon Torchiana.

Thursday Night Planning Team - 2/19 6:00 outside of 444 CSC!
Agape wants you!  Feel like having a say in what goes on during the weekly Thursday night meeting?  Do you have any ideas for ice breakers, discussion topics etc?  If so, or if you just want to hang out with some cool people before the weekly Agape meeting, please consider becoming part of the Thursday night planning team.  We'll be getting together every Thursday at 6:00 outside of 444 Curry Student Center and relocating downstairs if necessary, in order to plan the following Thursday night's meeting.  By coming to one meeting doesn't mean that you have to come to all!  We'll be starting up this week before Agape!  If you weren't able to come last semester, it's not too late to try out Thursday night planning team this semester.  Why don't we have an Agape challenge that everyone in Agape comes to Thursday night planning at least once this semester?  You just might realize how cool it is to have an impact on Thursday night meetings!

Real Life Boston - 2/20 6:30 at the husky in Ell  (This Friday back at BU!)
Real Life Boston is a collection of Campus Crusade for Christ student ministries on campuses throughout the city of Boston and gets together every Friday night at either BU or Harvard at 7:30.  Real Life will be back in action this Friday at BU at 7:30.  Come for a time of worship, teaching, and fellowship.  We'll be meeting at the husky in Ell Hall at 6:30 if you'd like to head over to BU together.

Big Break 2009 (spring break week)
Wondering what to do with your spring break?  Are you thinking that maybe you want to escape the snow that's clouding your window right now?  Does Panama City Beach, FL sound really appealing?  Why don't you consider going on Big Break - a spring break alternative with Campus Crusade for Christ.  Spend the week in Panama City Beach, FL growing in your walk with God, exploring biblical truths and learning how to talk to your friends about your faith.  For more info come to Agape on Thursday or check out http://big-break.com/

Life Groups - Still going strong!
Life groups are small groups of people who meet up to get to know one another, and spend time getting to know God better together. If you've never been in one, you should really give one a try. It can make a big difference.  Life group listings and contact info is available at www.agape.neu.edu ... so check it out and sign-up! :)  If you can't come Thursday night feel free to email Ali (shel...@neu.edu) for more info.

Morning Prayer - Still going strong!
Come join us every morning (Monday - Friday) at 7:14 as we host morning prayer in the Agape office (240 Curry Student Center).  It may be early, but what better way to start your day then to spend time with God!  As always, feel free to email prayer requests and let us know how we can be praying for you.  Since there has been recent debate about the top 5 reasons to come to morning prayer why don't you come to morning prayer and come up with some new reasons of your own?  Keep posted for next week when hopefully we'll have 5 new top reasons to come to morning prayer!

Evening Prayer - Still going strong!
Feel like praying at 7:14 in the morning is just a little too early for you?  If you're not a morning person but still want to participate in group prayer come join us for evening prayer at 6:00PM on Monday and Wednesday evenings in the Agape office (240 Curry Student Center).  Please come and check it out for yourself!  For more info talk to Cody!  (If you didn't come to last Thursday's meeting and get the evening prayer plug... Cody really wants you there!  And guess what?  Prayer's really cool too... why don't you check it out tonight... what's stopping you?)

God bless,
Ali

Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.  This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.  This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.  Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.  1 John 4:8-11

Hey everybody,

Spring break's coming up... but it's not quite here yet!  Before everyone skedaddles from this place, we still have a great meeting coming up Thursday night!  If you haven't come to Agape in a while, why don't you stop by tomorrow night?  We've missed your faces, and we don't want to wait to see you all until after spring break!  Please consider stopping by tomorrow!

Thursday - 2/26 Weekly meeting in 444 CSC
Agape will be meeting this Thursday at 7:30 as always in 444 Curry Student Center.  This week we'll be taking a break from the theme of discipleship and will be posing the question "how and why do we pray?"  Thursday night we'll be having a night of prayer and reflection leading up to spring break.  Join us as we take time from our busy schedules and give it back to the one who gave it to us in the first place.  We'll be looking specifically at the Lord's prayer, spending time in worship, and rotating between various prayer stations.  Come take a load off, and join us Thursday night for an evening of worship and prayer!

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.  And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.  Mark 11:24-25
