OK, we have a date and the room is booked for the 7th December at the
BBC and we have the one and only Andy Shearer giving us a short talk
on the advances in WebKit, including some of the pretty 3D stuff it
does these days. Sounds awesome ;)

Does anyone else fancy giving us another short talk, about 15-20
minutes plus questions. Any subject related to Mac or iPhone accepted
:) Let me know.

Dave

Folks,

I've been in London today hanging out with a few folks from Nokia (as
you do)

Their uk developer evangelist guy is dead keen to attract interesting
developers from the iPhone onto the nokia platform(s) (not necessarily
just symbian)

Would you folks be interested in hosting him to talk at nsmanchester
or would it be a better idea to set him up with a separate event?
Opinions please!

Sam

And while I'm at it... I could do a talk on AR for dec 7th.. Would be
a slight redux of what I'm doing at madlab on the 5th (only rather
more code-heavy of course)

Thinking about trying to open-source the AR library I've been
building... Would be interesting to guage how this would go down with
you folks....

If they bring free phones :). I remember the first few meetings I
attended some of the other guys were nokia developers looking to go
iPhone!

I'd like to see how they plan to compete with the iPhone in both
hardware and software terms.

Best Regards,

Shaun.

(P.S. This message was sent from my iPhone so please excuse spelling

I second that. It would be great to see what they say, and maybe an actual device (I've not played with any before).

Before the iPhone, the last phone I actually liked was a simple Nokia MK405. a Long time ago :)

I went to the session on web content integration at the iPhone Tech Talk in London on Wednesday and was most impressed with the webkit CSS additions - the stuff on doing gradients, shapes, and even masks programmatically.

I'm looking forward to the talk Andy!

Sam - ask that Nokia bloke to bring 20 phones, eh? :)

Cheers

I'd be very interested to hear what he has to say both in terms of their technologies platform development tools etc.  and
their business and distribution model.

Hi

Sorry can't make the 7th as have to go to Mumbai for work. If there
are any Nokias going spare would definitely like one. Shame I can't
make it as sound like it will be a very interesting meeting.

Regards

Steve

As Caius says, the more the merrier...
