Wow!!! 14 inches of fresh powder at Whitegrass. I can't wait to do some free-heelin'. I hope some of you decide to join me at the end of the month. There are only 9 spots available and registration ends Jan. 13.
I was up that way last week doing some dog-sledding. There was a deep base in the snow farm. Now, it is even better. So, I will be there again this weekend. The trip on Jan. 27 is suitable for beginners or experienced skiers, but I must warn you, once you get a taste of Nordic skiing you will be hooked.
Here are the details:

Howdy folks,
Is anyone interested in going up to white grass (or Slaty Fork if the snow is good there) or maybe even mt rogers (2 h away) this weekend?
I am available saturday through Tuesday.
I will be watching the weather. 30% chance of rain at white grass on Saturday. I'll check the snow conditions at the places above.

Have not stayed there. We stayed at the state park. Slat y fork is an even better option for lodging and skiing if the snow is ok. Of am ok with sat tp sunday. Will check snow .
My daughter and I are planning on leaving Fri. Evening for Whitegrass if it doesn't rain, but we will be returning Saturday evening. We usually stay at Backwater Falls, but Winnwood is a nice option. It is only 5 minutes away. They have hotel rooms and a bunk house. The bunk house is much cheaper. Yokum's at Select Rocks is also a good choice. It is only 30 minutes away.
