Snow conditions. Anyone up for leaving Thursday morning, returning Friday evening?

As the weather stands now (for White Grass/SlatyFork), it looks like Saturday is a little iffy (slight chance of rain on Friday and Saturday). But...if it doesn't rain, it'll probably be pretty nice.
Watch the weather. If the chance of rain changes it might be good.

Is anyone up for going Thursday morning (early) and coming back Friday evening?



Elk River Touring Center is about 15m NW of White Grass. (When you look up weather for WG, you get Davis, WV (where ERTC is).
Weather in Davis is cold Til Friday. 10% chance of percipitation (probably rain) on Fri, 30% on Saturday :( but colder again on Sunday).

In other news (bad):

Winterplace Ski resort:  no XC trails open.
Mt. Rogers: not enough snow (per ranger I called there today).

Updated weather from teh Canann Valley resort person I spoke with is much more promising.

I called Canaan Valley Resort (5 mi from White Grass) and they said that the they are predicting SNOW on Friday(10%) and rain turning to snow on Saturday(20%) and snow on Sunday (20%). She said she got it off NOAA but I can't find it.


They have a 4 BR cottage available (2 nite minimum) for $250/nite.
They may also have rooms available.
