Cross Country Skiing in/near the New River Valley Goals:
- Place to find and report on trail and snow conditions.
- Find other folks in the area who cross country ski ("Nordic skiing"). You might be looking for someone to ski with, learn from, or ask questions of.
XC Skiing near Blacksburg
- Map to some of the locations below and more. (many thanks to Katy for putting this together)
- Pandapas Pond (5 mi) - requires a fair amount of snow due to tree cover and rocky trails. Maybe 8" or more.
- Mountain Lake (about 25 mi, 35 minutes) - higher altitude than Blacksburg so the snow tends to stay around a little longer than in Blacksburg.
- The Mt. Lake Conservancy is a good source for snow conditions the Conservancy
- The Mt. Lake Biological Station Webcam will also show you realtime snow conditions. Not clear enough to tell how deep.

- Pipestem State Park (Pipestem, WV)
