The erratic Lorentz transform
John-Erik Persson
Background
The Lorentz transform was introduced by Lorentz in 1887, and contained the so-called Lorentz factor describing an increase in the time for propagation of light due to an ether wind, v, blowing in transverse direction in relation to light propagation. This Lorentz factor is 1√(1-v2c2) and this factor would be correct if light could be regarded as composed of particles, and this seems to be Lorentz’ opinion.
Lorentz mistake
Lorentz probably did not know that light is a wave motion. So, we have to use the wave model to correct him and this model states that an ether wind – transverse to light propagation and blowing inside the wave fronts – cannot tilt the same wave fronts. Therefore, wave front orientation and light speed, c, transverse to wave front are both unchanged. So, Lorentz seems to have used the wrong model for light, and the Lorentz factor is an illusion caused by this error.
The theory of special relativity
Special relativity is based on the Lorentz transform. A fact that Einstein tried to hide by introducing an alternative interpretation. Therefore, the theory of special relativity is also an illusion.
Michelson protested against the erratic Lorents transform. The only result was that he got a nervous breakdown.
Conclusions
Give up the Lorentz transform (138 years old)
Give up the special relativity by Einstein
When suspecting an error – always go back in time as long as possible
