Hello all,
I'm getting the dreaded "Install failed. Install manually" error upon upgrading to SP4A.
I've read all the TIDs associated with this problem (10098386, 10088616, 10098233). Nothing seems to work.
I've deleted the VO container and reinstalled VO numerous times. I've done a dance and spun around 3 times. Nothing.
This is what I get when I go to https://server/vo/servlet/configure
The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later. XML document must have a top level element. Error processing resource 'https://x.x.x.x/nps/servlet/portalservice?NPService=iManagerContainer&gotoNPS=true'. Anyone have any magic to get VO to work again? Thanks, Rich

1. do a backup - backup the /nps & /vo directories; make sure that
your community data is backed up where ever it is; backup the ou=Extend
and ou=VirtualOffice containers in eDir;
2. make sure that you can find the VO rpm on your sp4 cd's - it seems like
it is in the directory /products/voffice? Copy this rpm
(novell-virtualoffice-netware.rpm) to your sys volume, maybe the rpms
directory.
3. go to the NetWare console
a. type "bash"
b. from the bash prompt type "rpm -qa" - you will see two VO rpms
installed
c. type "rpm -e novell-virtualoffice-netware"
d. delete your /vo directory & restart apache & tomcat
d. type "cd /rpms", if rpms is the directory you copied the rpm
e. type "rpm -ivh novell-virtualoffice-netware.rpm"
f. restart apache & tomcat
4. Go to http://server/vo and run through the configure script. You can
probably accept the defaults. When it is done, restart tomcat again.
hopefully everything is working at this point

Thanks for the post. This fixed my VO problem as well.
