Hi guys!
I am lost :( and nobody answered my query on the other groups :((!
I have recently updated my Suse Linux distro from 10.1 to 10.2 on a
Dell Dimension 5150. Everything was going well, but ufter I performed
the automatic on-line update, my network connection stopped working.
I have tried almost everything I found (on many dedicated groups
posts), but without success :(!
I have also tried reconfiguring my network card and my network
connection after rebooting the system in failsafe mode with the
following parameters (one by one at each time):

acpi=off
acpi=oldboot
pci=acpi
pci=noacpi acpi=noirq
pci=routeirq
acpi=force
acpi_irq_balance
acpi_irq_nobalance
apic
noapic
lapic
nolapic

The same NIC still works perfectly under Windows XP (dual boot pc),
therefore it is not an HW problem...
Somebody know what should I do? Please help me!!

Please find hereafter some info about the errors I get and my system
configuration:

cava,

You posted to a dead newsgroup which is no longer part of the official
Novell support hierarchy. I suggest you visit
http://support.novell.com/forums and post to one of the official
Novell newsgroups.

Thanks, but I have a freely downloaded openSUSE, therefore no code to
register into Novell to get support.
I have also posted in others newsgroup:

http://groups.google.com/group/alt.os.linux/topics?lnk=rgh&hl=en
http://groups.google.com/group/alt.os.linux.suse/topics?hl=en
http://groups.google.com/group/suse?hl=en

but no answers so far :(...
I'm afraid I'll have to format my pc and start the installation from
scratch :S...hopefully it will work... or I'll change to another
distribution :(

Well, if you had at least taken the effort to follow the link I have
posted, you could have seen that the support forums are completely
open and free and don't require registration.

I'm really sorry: I did have a look to your link, but I followed the
wrong link and I got to a forum where the registration was required.
I have tried again and I have found the right "open" forum.
Thanks!
Paolo
