Tar multivolume restore

Hi, I have taken a multivol tar back in Redhat 2.4 kernel using the folling syntax tar -cvf /dev/rmt/tps6d7v -b 1000 -M filenames. I am now trying to restoe it on a SLES9 2.6 kernel with the syntax tar -xvf /dev/nst1 -M The errors are as follows. Just got a HP mini-note (SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop) and I love it. I know, this might be a real newbie question, but I have only used Mac computers in the past, and are new to both Linux and umpc's! I have just installed SLED 9.3. I have every few min. a complete halting of the operating system. The symptoms include the cursor being no responsive for up to 20 seconds. After this time the os responds. I tested the system by looking at streaming video. It was garbled. It isn't just the mouse... more »

Dell Wireless 1390 WRT54G

I have a Dell XPS M1710 with a Wireless 1390 WRT54G wireless card that I was hoping to get working with SuSE Linux 10.1. I found a site that looked promising, but had no luck when I followed the article. Here's a link [link] everything worked except the iwconfig command didn't show the wlan0 card.
