copy song from a cd or dvd

I have a number of cd's that I want to copy the songs from the cd to a flash drive. When placed in the cd drive it asked me what I want to use to play the songs, which is normal. If I go to dolphin and look at the file for the cd, it tells me that there is no program to open block device.... more »

Toshiba laptop & wifi

Have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L300. Running Opensuse 11.4.
Has a built-in wifi card. This card gets loaded at boot up.
The problem I have is that no login/password window comes up in order to log onto a network. Is there a script that is not being run to bring this window up? Any help would be appreciated.... more »

Hi, I have taken a multivol tar back in Redhat 2.4 kernel using the folling syntax tar -cvf /dev/rmt/tps6d7v -b 1000 -M filenames. Just got a HP mini-note (SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop) and I love it. I know, this might be a real newbie question, but I have only used Mac computers in the past, and are new to both Linux and umpc's! I have just installed SLED 9.3. I have every few min. a complete halting of the operating system. The symptoms include the cursor being no responsive for up to 20 seconds. After this time the os responds. I tested the system by looking at streaming video. It was garbled. It isn't just the mouse... more »
