Knowing the specifics of what you're after could be useful. For example,
if you gave one department one user with certain permissions they would
see different data than another department with another user with other
permissions. Creating specialized directories for those cases where you
really need something independent can be done easily with Novell Identity
Manager. Otherwise passing on the need for something like a virtual
directory to your Novell account rep is probably the best way to see what
can be done... new product if there is demand (your request joined with
others') or reuse of something existing, but it all depends on your
business needs.

There isn't. Novell have talked about a few different projects that could
be called a virtual directory, maybe, but none have come to fruition so
far.

Some of the VD concepts do sound really interesting and useful. If
there's a business case for having one from Novell, head over to

Also, where did you get the info that AD and eDir were the two largest
