Hi,

I am writing my own IDM driver and have been deploying to a NetWare
server. To deploy my changes to the driver I have stopped dirxml and
renamed my existing file, e.g. tomsdriver.jar to tomsdriver.old or
whatever and have copied the new jar in then restarted dirxml.

This process works fine on NetWare but I now need to have everything
running in Windows on my laptop. I have IDM3 and eDirectory installed and
have tried to rename C:NovellNDSlibtomsdriver.jar but it keeps saying that
the file is in use by another program.

I have stopped the NDS service and am unsure as to what else would be
using the file.

Please can you explain what I need to do on Windows to get my new driver
jar file to take effect?

Thanks

Tom

Stopping the nds service should be all you need to do. You may need to
use task manager to make sure that the dhost process has really stopped,
because sometimes it lingers for quite a while after you tell it to stop
and has been known to not completely shutdown without being killed
(don't know why, but that's my experience) or rebooting the system.
