I added rule 8 (which we discussed in the members-only mailing list
already) and changed Rule 7, as suggested ages ago. Better to
conclude this out in the open:

Sorry to add to this discussion about rules. I'd like to put to sleep
recent disagreements ASAP, and get this out of the way, so we can have
a great big membership drive and open day!

I've tentatively added an extra clause to the bottom of Rule 1 to
clarify that the hackspace is not run on handouts. Is this cool with
you?

I like what you are trying to say about people making large payments etc.

However, rather saying 'Don't pay too much' we should say something along the lines of 'amount of membership paid and donations value does not equal a large say in hackspace running' essentially all members are equal regardless of how much they pay.

I say this because if someone could afford and was using the space enough to warrant £200 a month, we would not want to discourage that surely?

Otherwise I think the rule 8 you added is right on the ball, adding in Noisebridges statement is nice as well.

I agree with this, considering for instance I might be doing a larger
project (which I might ask for space for in later months potentially,
who knows!) which I might well consider larger donations or a one off
for, it'd be worth realising new members only have the wiki to go on and
might find they could do larger projects/more work there :)
