I'm starting a new thread to capture all the details of the Arduino
workshop on 27th, and ask a few questions

First off, known details:

Date & Time: 27/03/2011 @ 12pm
Workshop fee: £20
Oomlout Kits: £40

Both Arduino 101 and Arduino 2.0 streams.

So, questions:

1) What is the lower age limit for accomanied kids? I have a few
parents at work whose kids may be interested.
2) Does the £40 kit cost include the workshop fee?

Any details of the 2.0 stream?

I'm particulrly interested in connecting other stuff up to thearduino
to control it.
How do you switch a relay and control high power stuff from that?

I'll leave Russell's questions to RepRap Matt or John.

James:

1) What is the lower age limit for accompanied kids?  I have a few

parents at work whose kids may be interested.

I think 10 years old maybe? It must be stressed to any prospective parent that this is an adult level workshop and that we are in no way responsible/insured etc to accommodate kids. 1 or 2 kids wouldn't be a problem though as long as they are genuinely interested.

We'll almost certainly have a Geek Mum/Nerd Dad weekend at some stage in the future that might be better suited to any but the most precocious child.

2) Does the £40 kit cost include the workshop fee?

BUY A KIT PRICE + WORKSHOP £40 :The Arduino Nottingham Hackspace kit (including the new Arduino UNO) costs £40. If you buy the kit the workshop if FREE

BRING YOUR OWN KIT PRICE £10: If you already have an Arduino and a few other parts and don't want the kit then the cost of the workshop is £10 (was £20)

If you wish to buy a kit and share it with a friend then we'd ask for a small donation towards the running cost of the space.

I did some similar things with a little reed relay at the last
workshop (only switching a 12V light load but the principle is the
same). I think we should have the parts required and if not we shall
get some in.

Personally I just want to drive a stepper motor! I'll be getting my
parts in advance.

Michael.

I had to lend Michael a Reed Relay to do that... we'll definitely need to order some parts in as I think I mentioned before.
