I loaded Notpad o.k. then followed the configuration process for my
Sandisk Clip zip" MP3 palyer. When choosing the "music location on
device", Although I can see the new device (and the "music folder in
the device) but Notpad will not let me choose the "music" folder in
the device. I have the same problem when trying to configure the
"recognize by folder/file". ANy suggestions.

Hi,

Notpod can only work with your device if it's put in the so called "mass storage mode", which means Windows is able to use it as a storage device and is assigning it a drive letter.

So is Mass storage mode different than MTP? I have an LG Motion and have the same exact problem as the OP.

Thanks.

Very helpful.  For the Sansa Clip, turn on the device and choose the settings menu -->  System settings -->  USB Mode --> MSC.  This solves the problem.  Thanks for a great freeware product.

Go to Settings on the MP3 player, choose System Settings, go to USB Mode and change
from Auto Detect to *MSC. A new destination for the MP3 player will show up on My Computer.. Then on "Link to removable drive" click that new link. Worked for me.
