ShrimpingIt / Arduino clone workshop - RSVP now - limited places

Hi all

The Arduino clone workshop is finally happening!

Michael Margolis, author of the Arduino Cookbook, as generously volunteered to organise for us an Arduino Clone workshop based on the ShrimpingIt (the cheap cloning method we already mentioned in past events).

What: ShrimpingIt workshop

When: Thursday 4th April 7PM at Hackspace quiet room (tbc)

Cost: £7.50

RSVP now by replying, first-come first-served (10 spots)

We've sourced what we think are the cheapest components, including some from Cefn Hoile (the ShimpingIt guy) and we'll order them now. 

The cost will be £7.50 per participant.

A few reasons why it's more expensive than the price announced on the ShrimpingIt website:

- ShrimpingIt prices list are for ordering kits in bulk, we are ordering only 15 kits. We might in the future order in bigger quantities.

- Michael will teach us both the stripboard and breadboard version so you'll go home with both.

- this includes the costly (by comparison to other items) USB CP2102 module adapter that you can re-use

- Actual cost is £7.35 per kit but rounded to £7.50 just in case or extra cost, any remaining money or components will go to the space.

Please RSVP now by replying to this thread or email. 12 participants, minus myself and Ian, that's 10 spots left. The 3 remaining kits are for Michael's testing and for the space.

Once you are confirmed, you'll be asked to wire the £7.50 to cover the cost of the ordered kits.

Hi all

For our Arduino clone / ShrimpingIt workshop organised by Michael, we have now 10 participants confirmed (Tim, Necati, Angus, Dan, Kieron, John, Bradley, Sean, Ian, Marc), which we means we have 2 spots left. (So RSVP now by replying or email if you haven't done it).

I'm also sending this by email to members to make sure you've all noted that the workshop date has been changed to 11th of April.

Hi all

After discussing with various people and trustees, we decided that it is safer to reschedule the 11th April workshop as it is likely as that date that the quiet room will be used to store crates and stuff to prep with the move to the new hackspace on the 13th. 

Michael indicated he could run the workshop on the 9th May, this still needs to be confirmed, I will keep you all posted.
