Hi all,

I sent an email a long time ago (I have been quite busy since then and I apologize) to know who would be interested in having a meeting in Paris around the "noSql" technology, and as far as I remember, a few people were quite motivated (François, Thomas...)

We will organize this in mid January (Wednesday the 13th at 18h30). We will have a meeting room and all the facilities.

Who would be interested ? Does any one of you want to do a presentation on one or several products?

Please let me know (in private or via the mailing list) and i gonna send you all the needed information (adresse...)

Thanks a lot.

Hey Olivier,
I might well be. All depending if I get to arrange a one-night trip to
Paris for that occasion.
While chances are high, I can't make any hard commitment as of now...

Hey gang,
I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Michael D.
Mooring and it's nice to meet you all. There was a Xquery Meetup just
a couple weeks ago in Paris

http://xquery.pbworks.com/Paris-Meetup

I checked the price for flying out of Newark International Airport and
it was only 259.00 USD for a round trip ticket:
http://www.cheapoair.com/Default.aspx?tabid=1685&sid=1&oa=EWR&da=PAR&adt=1&chd=0&snr=0&infl=0&infs=0&dd=01-13-2010&rd=02-14-2010&tt=ROUNDTRIP

From the Web 2.0 Expo here in NYC spawned a local XML user group which
I host:

Peace & Love,
Michael D. Mooring

I'm interested too. We begin to use MongoDB here (mainly a Rails
shop), but we keep an eye on Redis as well. We really would like to
exchange on the methodology front. Maybe we'll also do a little
presentation on our work with MongoDB.

If many people are interested and especially people from overseas, we
could turn it into a 1 or 2 day Barcamp.

Although I know a NoSQL/LesSQL conference is also in the works for Q2
2010 in London, so another “big” event in Paris may be overkill at
this point.

What are people's thoughts? Start with an informal evening and see
where it goes or should we mobilize euro-peeps with something larger
right away?

Cheers,
Tim

Maybe we can toss these ideas around together during the FOSDEM nosql devroom? I'd love to see a broad NoSQL EU thing happen as well. There's quite a bit of local interest apparently, but real-world cases (as far as I know of) are still rare.

Cheers,

Steven.

Hi!

AFAIK, this week's meeting is maintained. It will be quite informal so we can take some time to discuss the future of NoSQL Paris there.

Regards,
Thomas
