Subject: [mongodb-user] license problem for OEM product

Hi , all
we 're planning to develop a commercial product and use mongodb as
database.  Instead of SaaS, we need sell this prouduct to end user to use.

My question is
1. Can we free distribute our product with mongodb if we don't modify
anything about mongodb, and just use it as standand databases.
2. Or we can only ask customer to download and install the mongodb, and our
product connect to it as a data storage?
3. We hope we can buy some commercial support for some important customer.
Do we need pay for whole product lifecycle, or can only choice by ourselves?

According the below explain, we can free use mysql as database in our
product. But I hope use  mongodb to replace it if  it's free or acceptable
 to us.

http://kb.askmonty.org/en/licensing-faq  (We only use jdbc to access the
mysql, so it's free)

Regards.

Yes, the license allows you to distribute mongodb with your app.

Re: the commercial support not sure what you're asking exactly but it is
fine to have support for some customers and not others. Also you can decide
when to buy it and whether to renew. Does that answer your question?
