I was wondering if it is a good idea to have a generic RSS feed like we have for our own profile for our contacts social stream.
This feed would be all the items from all your contacts in a RSS feed, this feed would automatically have new services and new contacts added to it.
Maybe have the info appear in the page header if you are logged in so it is intuitive to add it when you browse to that page.

Thoughts?

This Email is PGP signed.
Why? Because it is a good idea. By signing it I give you the opportunity to be able to verify it is really from me and that it has not been altered.

If this email is verified you know it's not from a spammer or evil hacker. Well at least you know its from this one specifically and not some other guy.

Please consider using encryption and signing yourself.. Take a look over at http://gnupg.org/ for some free/open source options and more information.

The problem is, that the generic feed would only contain those
contacts, that are on the site, that you are on. Right now, when
you're not logged in and watch a persons network view, you will not
see updates from private contacts or contacts from other sites. We did
that, because we did not want content from people not affiliatet with
a NoseRub site to give away their content - some people tend to be
very serious about where and how their content is shown.

So, this feed would need to be secured by some kind of hash, similar
to the feeds in Settings/Feeds that you can create yourself.

I guess we could just add one pre-generated feed to the list, which
cannot be modified. I just opened an issue for this:
http://code.google.com/p/noserub/issues/detail?id=241

Cheers,
Dirk

Agreed,

having it protected would be good.
